(Remodel - Custom) Make It Pop on a Tight Budget
The homeowners living in this 2001 home wanted to both upgrade and update the finishes in their children’s bathroom. Due to the size of the bathroom and budgetary constraints, the only small structural modification made was to cut back the wall between the tub and entry door a few inches. While this was a small change, it did provide better access into the space while keeping the wall available for the shower plumbing. The homeowners wanted to keep a tub in this bathroom, but wanted to add shower glass, so a hydro-slide style door was selected to save space but also to showcase the interesting patterned shower tile. A recessed shower niche gives extra storage options in the shower and the two floating shelves on the vanity wall provide a decorative element and extra towel storage. Because the space did not have a window, bright, clear-glass, 3-light vanity lights were selected and motion activated under-cabinet vanity lighting helps to illuminate the space. A transitional style was selected for the vanity cabinets and the full height crayon shaped tile wall providing the perfect backdrop for black mirrors, fixtures and hardware. The kids love their new bathroom and their parents were thrilled with the transformation that was made within the budget available.
