(Remodel - Custom) This Gold is No Brass

As was popular in early 2000 homes, a huge soaking tub occupied the majority of the master bathroom leaving a small area for the shower. The size of the existing double vanity and a separate water closet were features the homeowners wanted to keep in the new design but of key importance was enlarging the shower and changing to a stand-alone tub. Even after adding a 66” stand alone tub in place of the existing tub/tub deck, there was still a significant amount of space on either side of the new tub. This provided the perfect location for a double sided fireplace on one side and a display/storage area on the other. The homeowner can relax in the tub while enjoying the views out the window and the warmth from the fireplace. The existing shower space was enlarged, bench seating was added and multiple shower-heads (rain, fixed and wand) were added to provide a customized shower experience. An Arabesque mosaic design is inset into the shower wall and shower niche providing a contrast to the honed marble shower tile. Extensive marble tile-work was added throughout including a tile-wainscot look around the bathroom walls. The homeowner was drawn to the latest trend for gold/brass finishes and great care and attention was taken to match the plumbing fixtures satin brass color with that of the mirrors, cabinet hardware and lighting fixtures (after additional photo 3, after additional photo 4). The double vanity space remained the same size but was updated with high end cabinetry and counter-top finishes that complement the entire space. What was once an outdated master bathroom is now a luxurious retreat.
