(Remodel - Custom) Five New Beams Create A Great Room

Have you ever imagined what can be done with your "not big enough" dining room and "never gets used" living room? By adding five new beams and additional concrete in the crawl space, we were able to relocate the load-bearing walls and create a true open concept great room design. By removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room, the once cramped kitchen grew by 130 square feet, and storage increased by 30%. A large island centerpiece provides a casual eating/entertaining area in the kitchen that opens to the dining space for larger gatherings. The tiny laundry room doubled in size, a true office area was created, and the powder room was relocated and updated. Multiple display areas were created for this artist to showcase her art collection. The old wood-burning fireplace, with its floor-to-ceiling red brick, was replaced with a gas fireplace and paired with an updated stone mantle and flat screen TV viewing area (complete with concealed cables). The outdated finishes, appliances, and fixtures were replaced with beautiful (yet easy to maintain) surfaces conducive to modern-day living. Upstairs, the master bathroom was transformed into a spa-like retreat.
