The existing kitchen was small, compartmentalized and outdated while the neighboring dining room was rarely used. By removing a load bearing wall and adding a steel beam, an open floor-plan kitchen was made possible. Of key importance in the remodel, was an entertaining island that could accommodate multiple guests during large gatherings but also accommodate the couple for daily meals. The uniquely shaped Yellow River granite island with live chisel edge is a centerpiece and focal point in in the room. LED lighting illuminates the LED lighting illuminates the beautiful new finishes and professional grade appliances and a separate bar space with tilt out windows adds to the functionality. The old outdated storage was replaced with new cabinetry and a large sliding door to the back-deck was added.
