The designer’s challenge for this project was to reflect the tastes of a homeowner living in a different state and create a successful expression of an updated traditional style. The clients were empty nesters who wanted a place to retire that provided function and ease for their lifestyle, as well as an exceptional space to entertain guests. Comfortable seating was priority in the Great Room that was anchored by a large leather ottoman. Dark amber pendants complement a faux copper hood in the kitchen which is complete with a customized folding window allowing easy access to the outdoor bar. Inspired by the onyx vessel sink, pen shell sconces flank the mirror and tiffany glass tile accentuates the wall mounted faucet in the Powder Bath. In the master suite, a softly striaed barrel ceiling combined with the textured ledgestone wall and luxurious fabrics
Careful thought went into effectively combining traditional textures with more streamlined finishes and fixtures. In an effort to satisfy the client’s desire for modern comfort, the designers employed the use of custom specialty finishes, creative tile designs, and a palette of soft colors to create a soothing unity that incorporated rustic elements with clean lines.
