This amazing project was a 90% DIY project by couple of very enthusiastic and talented homeowners. We wanted to keep what was good in the old landscape and rejuvenate and up grade the rest. The new front entry side walk was poured by the home renovation contractor, but most of the balance of the work including the demolition, all to he planting and all of the building the dry stacked stone walls was done by this dynamic duo, under the expert coaching of one of my favourite landscapers. He also placed the boulders for them. In this photo the existing sidewalk didn't line up with the new front door entry portico so I redesigned the new one to complement the mid-century styling of the newly renovated home. Some work replacing the landscape ties still remains for a future phase - but the transformation is remarkable!
