Hospitals are a busy and chaotic places filled with patients, staff, and visitors. Everyone is dealing with heightened emotions in a cramped area. The goal of this project was to create a space where anyone could step outside of the commotion and into a peaceful space. A natural and rolling landscape invokes the calming effect of being miles away when, in fact, you are just outside the door. A spectrum of greens dotted with colorful flowers and tall grasses were chosen to encourage the idea that you have stepped into a wild meadow or clearing. The design focuses on the gentle beauty of the plant-life and encourages visitors to do the same.
