Visit a Family-Friendly Home Nestled on a Texas Hilltop
Moving from Missouri to Austin, Texas, these homeowners wanted a place that could accommodate extended stays for visiting family members. They found the right spot on a ridge overlooking the rolling tree-covered hills of the Barton Creek Greenbelt in West Austin.
But the home and its sloping lot needed some work to fit the couple’s vision. So they hired Sara Hadden of CG&S Design-Build to build a limestone guesthouse that would coordinate with the architecture of the main house, and to rework the landscape to create terraced lawns for the couple’s two young sons and two German shepherds. Inside, Hadden removed walls to open the home up to the captivating views, and updated the kitchen and other areas to be more family- and dog-friendly.
