See How a Designer Turned an Office Building Into a Stylish Home

Australian designer Kirsty Ristevski of Furnishd originally planned on turning a former commercial office building into a boutique hotel. But after spending time with the property, she got an even better idea. “After a bit of time, we realized it would be an amazing opportunity to actually live in the space with our family,” she says. “So we used that as inspiration to turn it into a home.”

The now-three-level home has a swanky hotel vibe, but with family- and dog-friendly elements thrown in. A dramatic kitchen looks at first glance like a hotel bar. The living area could be a hotel lounge, with a TV nook and a sprawling modular sectional sofa that allows multiple family members to hang out while doing different activities together. An impressive marble mosaic depicting a local train station covers one wall. There’s also an inviting compact pool, an outdoor shower, a barbecue lounge niche and even a stylish arched doggy door for the family’s labradoodle.

I as well have a bit of OCD.....and make sure everything aligns as I picture. I tried to have photos sent of my French glam coastal cottage look......I use blush as a neutral, all shades of teal with crisp white. Unique and getting raves.
