Yes...I love the materials and associated styles so much I have to create an entire ideabook just to house my favorite shots.
I think this is my favorite house on Houzz....
This is about as simple...and elegant...as it gets
Wonderful desert color...
Color and graphic lines form a dramatic composition...
When combined with a clay tile roof...it doesn't get any better!
Cool sky colored concrete/stucco in a sky-lit shower...
Clean white walls in Mediterranean simplicity...
Weathered texture on color faded stucco...
These brightly colored walls call to mind the work of Mexican architects Ricardo Legorreta or Luis Barragan...And color can be integrated into the material itself...
Sun baked white walled Greek simplicity...and the brilliant colors of Bougainvillea are all the adornment needed!
Stark simplicity...
This one is simple, quaint, rustic, and quirky all at the same time...
Classic, but not ornate or ostentatious...
Contemporary adobe...with sparkling Grecian whiteness...
Note the thick walls and recessed windows and doors of this contemporary adobe home based on traditional Pueblo styling. The ancient starkness of adobe that makes it seem to rise naturally from the earth sings in my bones. Childhood in New Mexico still has its hooks in me.
Art Deco...bright and white...
This is a white-washed, sun-splashed dream of a space.
This actually reminds me of our backyard on Sandia Street in Santa Fe when I was 7 yrs. old!
A shaded stone patio and covered columned porch under a tiled roof...
These materials work on cottage style as well...
and combine well with stone...
It's easy to sculpt fireplaces, shelves, curves and built-in niches in these materials...
I love the pale quiet simplicity of this room...
Dappled sunlit color...
Pale stucco walls, cool stone, and weathered wood...a perfect combination...
Strong lines and restful colors...
The simplicity of a kiva style fireplace has always appealed to me.
Norman French Cottages also work well in these materials.
I love the color and the quirkiness...
Quirky and colorful...
Perfect simplicity...
LOVE!!
In Israel...Charming...
Reminiscent of Santa Fe again...
Charming and earthy...
The stone steps and terrace are the best part...
This rammed earth home has a decidedly "old world" ambiance...
A closer view...
And still another view...nice feel...peaceful...
This could have been the gate to my childhood home in Santa Fe...
Something of Old World Spanish Territorial here...
Oh, yes, please...
In Italy...
