Efficient Condo Kitchen
Our client, who has downsized before, decided to do it again! This time to a high rise building built in the late 70’s. The kitchen was original and small. The existing cabinets and appliances had to go as well as the white shag carpet in the other rooms in the condo!
A small footprint can still yield an efficient kitchen! The hunt was on for new appliances, cabinets etc. As no gas cooking was available I mentioned the induction cooking used by another client. An induction range with 2 ovens was chosen.
Custom cabinets were a must to maximize the space. Glass front cabinets show off the dishes, and the generous pantry with roll out shelves, holds everything else. There is even a shelf above the refrigerator and pantry that holds their collection of tin boxes and ceramic tea pots.
Handmade tiles from Oregon created the backsplash. Planning the locations of the colorful dots was fun. It was decided to continue the condos new cherry flooring into the kitchen. The counters are Cambria, an engineered stone.
Warm, efficient and compact! Bon Appetit!
