RMK Designs was started in 1995 by Richard M Kerrell. I was working for a company that made high end musical instruments where I was introduced to the beauty of highly figured woods. These were woods that I had not seen in the past 8 years while working at custom furniture shops. During the time I was fortunate enough to work at a custom furniture shop I gained an increased understanding of the many construction techniques that I have applied to my current work. Over the last 20 years I have shrived to create new and exciting pieces of furniture as well as many home accent pieces. My mother and father were also involved in the creation of the business. My father has since passed away but my mother is still involved in her Intarsia work. I have also been joined by my wife, Sarah, who handcrafts many of the pieces we sell. We will continue to design and craft pieces of art for the enjoyment of our many clients.
