The first of three remodelings for this home constructed in the late 1980’s was undertaken in 1996 when our client first purchased the home. The home’s interior was rather generic and plain. It lacked focus and was dark with only a few windows despite the sites beautiful wooded views.

Phase 1 (1996) - We addressed some of the homes major short comings with a short lists of structural changes. - windows were added and an entry canopy was built to identify the homes front entrance. The windows were made tall to take advantage of the homes ten foot ceiling height thereby allowing more light to come further into the rooms. Skylights were placed between existing roof trusses bringing in more natural light. All interior finishes were upgraded at this past as well. New carpeting, antique tile flooring at the kitchen and foyer, paint and furnishings completed the work for this phase.

Phase 2 (2000) - The homes landscaping was redone. We executed a plan designed by Oehme, van Sweden & Associates making a few minor detailing changes to reduce the cost. Trees, shrubs, herbs, grasses, and ferns, were planted through out the site. Gardens, and a pond were created and exterior decks constructed with glass railings. Blue stone paving paths and a small patio near the front entry were laid completing the plan.

Unfortunately there was a Phase 3 (2005) Because of a fire at the kitchen the interiors were redone, again. It was not a major fire and no one was hurt but a new kitchen and all finishes and furniture all had to be replaced and refreshed because of the smoke that had filled the house. Kimberly Weder Designs was the interior designer for the project. At this time as well the laundry room was enlarged and the sloped glazing at the living room was replaced because it frequently leaked.
