The kitchen's surface-mounted light fixtures came from School House Electric with shades from Rejuvenation. The light fixture in the butler's pantry also came from School House, and its vintage shade was found on the Internet from a dealer in Minnesota. The floor is a classic checkerboard pattern (usually found in black and white). - Mitchell Snyder Photography

A love affair with the ocean and coastal get-aways inspired the makeover of this breezy and inviting hearth room. Creating a dramatic focal point, the fireplace was custom-built with a stacked stone surround, stone corbels, and flush limestone hearth and is flanked by built-in cabinets topped with matching limestone. Covered in off-white indoor-outdoor fabric, the matching side chairs invite conversation with those seated on the curvaceous green sofa featuring turquoise blue welt. The industrial cart as coffee table is a punch of surprise while also adding to the easy-breezy nature of the room. Additional blue accents appear on the Chinese garden stool and the framed tropical-themed painting behind the sofa. Driftwood lamps with transitional shades and a unique sand-colored pebble-textured area rug further speak to the coastal inspiration of the room's decor,

Traditional White Kitchen with Hallmark Floors Alta Vista Collection by Kichen Kraft Inc. Engineered hardwood flooring from Hallmark Floors.
A Gorgeous Traditional White Kitchen with Hallmark Floors, Historic Oak Floors by Kitchen Kraft Inc. This traditional Kitchen remodel was completed with Hallmark Floors Alta Vista Historic Oak Collection by Kitchen Kraft, Inc or Columbus OH. They did a fantastic job combining the updated fashions of white counter tops to the rustic colored accent of the island. Amazing work.
The Alta Vista Historic Oak floors offer a gorgeous contrast to the bright white of all of the other accents within the kitchen. Truly inspiring.
Mu-2 Inc.
We hired Mu-2 Inc in the fall of 2011 to gut a house we purchased in Georgetown, move all of the rooms in the house around, and then put it back together again. The project started in September and we moved in just prior to Christmas that year (it's a small house, it only took 3 months). Ted and Geoff were amazing to work with. Their work ethic was high - each day they showed up at the same time (early) and they worked a full day each day until the job was complete. We obviously weren't living here at the time but all of our new neighbors were impressed with the regularity of their schedule and told us so. There was great value. Geoff and Ted handled everything from plumbing to wiring - in our house both were completely replaced - to hooking up our new washer and dryer when they arrived. And everything in between. We continue to use them on new projects here long after we moved in. This year they built us a beautiful fence - and it's an 8,000 sq foot lot - that has an awe inspiring rolling gate. I bought overly complicated gate locks on the internet and Ted and Geoff figured them out and made them work. They basically built gates to work with my locks! Currently they are building a deck off our kitchen and two sets of stairs leading down to our patio. We can't recommend them highly enough. You could call us for more details if you like.

Featured in Period Homes Magazine, this kitchen is an example of working with the traditional elements of the existing Victorian Period home and within the existing footprint. The Custom cabinets recall the leaded glass windows in the main stair hall and front door.
