Housewarming gift challenge?

Our neighbors invited us for housewarming cocktails for their newly completed construction. I would really like to bring them a little gift, but am stumped.

It isn't really a house they built, it is a guest house and a (lovely) building to house their car collection, which I think may also have some entertaining space.

So a car theme might be cute. But I cannot think of what. I'd rather not give them any sort of spirits because they are serious about wine and I'm not, so I doubt I could find a good choice.

Vintage car coasters! That is cool! Yes, classic cars.

ETA: OMG , I found really cool coasters printed on maple wood, with classic car images, and they are customizable so I can add their name or initials. Thank you! I think it'd be perfect. I will probably order them after I see their color scheme and maybe which car(s) are his favorites. I will bring a bottle of good champagne, instead of wine.

Too bad about the wine - it would make a nice gift along with a set of vintage car coasters. When DH bought our 1964 1/2 Mustang convertible our kids gave him a beautiful poster from one of the original marketing campaigns.

Do they collect classic cars?

How about something fun like this, from eBay. It's 9.5 inches tall, and it's a working telephone in the shape of a vintage Sunoco gas pump. $25. If he works on the cars, he'll likely want a phone out there.

How about personalized / monogrammed crystal wine glasses? Or perhaps a wine carrier that could be used IN one of those cars to take them on a picnic? Somewhere I have seen a set of dessert plates with a different classic car on each, and they were fun. Cannot recall where I've seen them though!

A vintage tin car sign - there are lots of different kinds. If you know what car brand they have something that ties with that or a gas brand or oil etc.

I think the wooden coasters with the classic cars sound perfect. When I lived in NY on the Westchester /Fairfield County border I was good friends with a couple and he collected classic sports cars as a hobby. Remembering those friends, I think he would have loved the coasters so I vote for them :)

Auntjen, I personally like the idea of a sort of picnic thing, but not sure if they would do that or not.

Lyfia, They have many cars. This (very large) structure was built to mimic an old barn and it will hold cars on multiple levels. I haven't seen many of them because they had them stored elsewhere.

Local, Yes, I think I am pretty much sold on that. Especially because it is a "harmless" gift, in that you don't feel obligated to use or display it. Also, I like the fact I can personalize it.
