You should try to contact either Tom McCoy or Lavranos to ID this plant. Both are very knowledgeable in Yemen succulents.

Thanks for your help. I've tried searching for both names on the forum but haven't found anything. I see that they've published a number of articles in the Cactus and Succulent Society of America journal, but again there is no contact info listed there.

Do you happen to have their e-amils?

Check the credits on the first page of the CSSA Journal, especially the one that contained articles written by them.

As sagebrush mentions, look at the bottom of the last page of their articles - the last time I subscribed to the CSSA, contact information for the authors of the article was published below the last line of test, after the bibliography (if any).

And I thought that it was a transplanted Cotyledon. The flowers are fantastic.

Great! It certainly seems like this is the correct ID. The only problem now is that no one seems to have one in stock. I would really like to have one of these as a memory of my Yemeni rooftop apartment, so if anyone comes across one please let me know.

Arid lands has some, apparently, although I'm not sure it's the right sub-species.

Yes, I saw this, although I'm also unsure about the ssp. grantii. Elsewhere I'd seen this ssp. as originating from East Africa (Kenya, I think), rather than Yemen.

Perhaps I will try it and see.
