Michelle Woolley Sauter has been pursuing a splendid atmospheric thematic in her latest work by layering many thin glazes of paint over fresco on canvas and wood to enhance dimensional qualities.
In this continuing series of paintings, Michelle investigates undulation and shifting thresholds in environments and memories. Her technique includes accumulating layers of acrylic emulsion and brush dragging across a chosen substrate. This process allows for slick, waxy surfaces on which to apply the paint with brush, palette knife and rag.
By using additional layers of paint, her glazes and pigment are flooded with vehicle and applied between the layers of emulsion. Blended tones become suspended, enhancing atmospheric and dimensionally textural qualities.

Any room imbued with seaside spirit would be the right setting for this 36-inch square stunner. Interestingly, the fish are painted on top of the acrylic, which is set atop an almost stucco-like background. The result is a fascinating swim-like effect.

"Cancer," The Crab 8"x8" Paintingby Lea K Tawd, Visual Artist
$144
Free Shipping
"Cancer" is the Crab, a water sign, your Sun sign if you were born between June 21st and July 22nd. Cancer is a water sign, ruled by the moon. Cancers are rooted to home and tradition; they have a great depth of emotion and will retreat into their protective shell if they need to. They are know for being kind and gentle as well as moody.
This is an original painting. I used watercolor, collage, colored pencil, and acrylic on wood. It is sealed with several protective layers of acrylic varnish and has a sawtooth hangar on the back. It measures approximately 8" x 8" (20.5 cm x 20.5 cm) and is about 1/2" thick. It is titled, signed, and dated on the back.
This painting will be carefully packaged and shipped USPS Priority mail.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When you purchase the work of art, copyright or rights to reproduction are not included.
