There are a lot of beautiful 'p' hostas. I'm suddenly very interested in Parhelian with it's very narrow edge. Beautiful plants shown above.

I tried without much success of narrowing it down. I doubled up on a few.

Two Paradigm's - Both from the same year though the one in the shade was sold as Blue Shadows. The one in the shade is at least double the size. There is more contrast in colors. The one in the sun becomes brighter yellow. Love them both.

Hosta 'Paradise Joyce' starts out looking like 'June' in the spring, but the leaf centers turn white by August.

Hosta 'Princess Anastasia' isn't mine. This picture was taken last summer at Sebright Gardens in Oregon.

Only have one (gasp) P. None other than H. 'Plantaginea' herself...maybe I'll post a few pics... :-)

More flower shots of mama P. None of my four Ps are a good size as they had to be moved due to the "maple tree root syndrome" and hence divided.

Beautiful plantaginea blossoms, Jo. Do you have your plantagineas sited in a good amount of sun?

    Don B.

Thank you, Don, and yes I do....have it/them in a fair bit of sun.

Last year I transplanted a struggling mama P from the maple-rooted garden out front to the backyard, in full sun. (Full sun or otherwise, this hosta does grow vigorously here.). The one pictured here receives eastern direct sun until around 1:30 and doesn't get phased at all.

The one in the back got a bit crisp around an edge here and there but I really wanted it to gain some vigour quickly after it's struggle out front. It went from a 4" height to at least triple it's height and leaves. I am curious to see how it withstands the sun exposure this year...I will make sure to provide more water for that one...it is in the vicinity of a red hibiscus which also requires copious amounts of water so that's how I remember, lol

I had one by the front door a couple of years back, where it showed its green colour to perfection (IMO) but it outgrew its location in one season! Too bad since the perfume of the blossoms really lingered there in the evening...being semi-sheltered from wind.

I really love this hosta called 'Plantaginea'!

I just have to show the before...it did not grow any more than what you see here, poor thing, BAD maple roots! and a bunny chewed the asters right down (to left of Plantaginea)...it also had a buffet of tradescantia, echinacea
(It's leaves are so rough but it liked the younger echinaceas...more tender)
    And the odd hosta leaf.
