Do you use the FP? I’d have the couches facing each other. A bigger coffee table and maybe some chairs. Or a bench. A cushion on the bay window ledge? What’s the lighting in this room? And if probably move the tv over the FP and add a mantle. It’s a very nice, neat clean space. Drop empty but it’ll look great!

Right now you have three focal points: Television, window and fireplace. I'm not usually a fan of a tv over a fireplace but I think in this instance it would improve the room. I'd also get rid of the small piece under the tv now, put a mantle over the fireplace and hang some pretty stationary drapes on either side of the window. Very pretty room with great potential.

It’s not the arrangement that is making room feel boring, but the lack of accessories/therefore personality.

Take advantage of the lovely window by adding blinds (or drapery - IKEA has great prices and good choices) and some cushions

I’d create a focal wall around fireplace and move tv. Add bookcases (Ikea) or even chests/consoles and if you don’t want tv above fireplace, place on the side.

You need side tables, lamps, larger coffee table so it can be used and or try pulling couches in closer. Art and cushions on couches will also be great additions. Layering is the key in creating interest.

It’s a lot, but if you look on line for rooms that inspire you, save and then as you are making changes it will be much easier if you have a plan.

Thank you everyone! I truly appreciate the feedback. The room has recessed lighting but no room lamps. I wasn’t going to put any drapes or blinds up, but will now. I just thought 2 full sized sleep sofas might be too much with chairs as well. I’m not sure it would work to put a sofa in front of the window, since I’m creating a window seat bench. But thanks so much again!
