Looking for a perfect blue / grey for my kitchen cabinets

Hello,

We recently purchased a home in La quinta that we are renovating. Its a spanish 50's home and would love to keep the integrity of the home. Were looking to make this into a modern spanish feel and look. My husband for some crazy reason would like to paint the kitchen a dark blue, the kitchen is not very big. I would like to do a blue / grey to keep the color lighter and not have the kitchen look like a cave . Can anyone suggest a blue / grey paint ? Ive purchased so many samples but thry are either too light or too grey .The kitchen has saltillo tile and we will be keeping that . we do have a nice size sky light . i would rather not do vibrant colors, would really love it brighter and calm.

Ill be doing white counters, iron hardware and brass faucet. We're also raising the ceiling abiut 3 feet . Thank you all for your suggestions!

I have B.M. CSP Subway Tile in my kitchen (which gets south iight) and I love it.

The natural light will make a a difference. Blue and gray like south.

B.M. suggests for your style, Palladian Blue would be the best blue.

What do the floors look like in this room? Blue gray is an unusual choice for a Spanish style home. While I agree with you that navy is probably too dark, a vibrant blue would be more in keeping with the style. You could always mix natural wood with a color to keep it from being overwhelming. Can you post a picture of the room as is?

Choices are endless. So much depends on your flooring, counter choice, backsplash and the overall look you are going for, as well as how the kitchen connects to adjoining spaces.

Maybe if you went with a slightly darker shade, your husband may like as well.

A nice combination using a mid range blue, which could be a compromise and could even add in some wood elements. Light walls/flooring, counter/backsplash.

Lighting is important. Because you're raising the ceiling, think about recessed led cans for task and ambient lighting. Task cans can go in from the edge of the counter over work zone to produce 450 lumens at the counter. Makes thin slicing an onion less dangerous.
