EcoScapes Landscaping
Edible Garden Companies in Santa Fe County
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsMay 21, 2019
“We had an excellent experience with EcoScapes planning and implementing the landscape for our small walled and rather barren yard. As an in-town location, we had several micro-climates requiring careful plant choices and we wanted a large stone patio. The resulting design gave us a great entertaining space, raised beds for ornamentals and a kitchen garden, improved privacy and an interesting variety of plants. Michael and his team were a joy to work with throughout the process - the stone masons were true artists and the project ticked off everything on our wish list. EcoScapes has stayed engaged, offering maintenance advise when asked and replacing two plants that failed to thrive.”

“Alison and company have a truly magical sense of design, whether it comes to elegant hardscaping or picking just the right community of plants. The work is way beyond what I could have imagined or done for myself, and it is thriving after two years. Can't recommend this firm highly enough!”

“We live in a high desert, dry, very sunny climate, with a third of an acre of outdoor garden space and a deck off a sun room. About 8 years ago, using permaculture principles we installed native plants, a vegetable garden space, and straight pathways. The results after a few years saved water, attracted a variety of birds, was healthy and green at various plant heights, and took care of itself fairly well. But, it wasn't inviting to be in. So, 3 years ago we invited Christie Green and her company, Radicle, in to improve the design. Building on what was there and staying within permaculture principles, she transformed it into a seductive garden and outdoor living space with variegated color, shade and sun, stone walkways and secluded seating areas. It is now a joy to be in it, whether for eating, gardening, entertaining guests, strolling through to observe the wonders of animal and plantlike working together or just quietly, being in it. There is now even more animal and plant life sharing it with us in the middle of an urban surround. An increase in birds species, squirrels, chipmunks, bees and other beneficial insects; acorns, native berries, currents, choke cherries, grapes; a variety of ground covers, bushes and trees each flowering or changing leaf colors at different times throughout three seasons. What a difference!”

“Solange is wonderful to work with. Her work is her passion and she works hard to provide the best solution for the particular client requirements. Her designs are clean and modern without ignoring human comfort and scale. She is happy to recycle materials if available and to harvest rainwater by shaping the land accordingly. I highly recommend Serquis + Associates!”

“We have been with Gardensong from the very beginning with our home in Santa Fe. From the expertly designed gardens and hardscaping to the yearly upkeep of our property, we have been very pleased with the excellent care they provide, often going above and beyond the call of duty. We highly recommend them. Our project began in 2006 and is ongoing.”
Michael Polikoff Landscape Architect
Edible Garden Companies in Santa Fe County
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsSeptember 6, 2015
“I found Michael Polikoff online. He designed a backyard sanctuary for our home that met all of our requests and exceeded all expectations. It's a fairly large yard and an odd shape. We couldn't have designed anything like this on our own. His fees were absurdly reasonable and he provided architectural-quality designs, native plant lists and fool-proof step-by-step instructions for the installation crew. We took his advice and hired Whelchel and Gleason to do the installation work, and were equally pleased. So often we spend a fortune on infrastructure upgrades, like a new roof, and end up with a house with a roof. This investment improves the home's value and is something we enjoy using every day. Compared to a contractor or landscaper, a landscape architect is a formally-trained artist who approaches an outdoor space as a blank canvas and doesn't just try to improve what's there. He removed a lot of previous DIY mistakes and made changes that required vision and creativity, not just landscaping skills.”

“Teresa loves the land; this together with an ability to "see" with an artist's eye results in your landscape design preconceptions being more than fulfilled. And speaking of artists, that's the skill she employs in her CAD and hand-drawn concepts. Very personable and capable of transforming vague ideas into living reality, Teresa is everything one would hope for in a Landscape Designer. How do we know? We can look at our backyard and see the reality of it.”
