I love when people give suggestions while they visit. Doesn't it sometimes get on your nerves? Anyway, the only way to judge if these buffet lamps will look good is to try them out and see for yourself. I'm thinking they "may" be too tall and when you walk by the fireplace you'll look up and see the light bulbs. I guess it depends on how high your fireplace is to begin with. I have a large painting and two silk "tall" orchids on mine. I like it simple. I'm sure you'll get more opinions.

I'm learning something from using this forum... after you've done an area take a photo of it. I immediately see things I could improve... things I just didn't see in real life. It's surprising. So try it out and stand back and take a picture then see what you think. You can run it by us too as we'd love to see it. It's a lot easier for us to answer you if we see a picture.

I'm just jealous that you have a mantle! One of these days I'll post pics of my fireplace, but I have to finish painting it first. I still hate it. hehe
