Gruss an Teplitz, my first blooms

Gruss an Teplitz is having first blooms since planted last fall. He is very prone to mildew and this Spring hasn’t helped matters, but his flaws are mostly hidden in Madame Alfred Carriere’s foliage. Although she is getting some mildew too. I sprayed with copper sulfate, but didn’t catch it soon enough. Here they are. GaT is looking hot pink. Fragrance is nice old rose. I am hoping they intertwine a bit on this 6 ft high fence. My MAC doesn’t seem too vigorous as she is over 3 years old and one main cane with all new branches off coming this one cane this year.
