Hey There: A great way to improve the overall well feeling in a sunroom are bottom-up top-down honeycomb shades. First, they do install as inside mount to your window and do not cover your trim no do they stick out and make your room smaller. Then they are super functional and versatile in usage. Last but not least, they do work with your crank out windows. The double layer fabric prevents the warm air to touch the cold glass and cool down. Thanks all very much! We decided on curtains instead of shades for aesthetics. Here’s an update for anyone who searches this thread later for ideas. I might update again when I finalize my curtain choice!

Honestly after taking a second look at your pictures, I would recommend going with plantation shutters. They'll offer better insulation in the winter than just drapes, and they'll look a lot better than shades. Plus it adds to the home's overall value. A lot of us Californian's come from Northern climates, we don't miss the cold, but we've been in your shoes before.

What color are you planning on painting it? Will there be a rug on the floor? I think the drapes would be nicer, hang them higher though.

It is now painted. We went with kilim beige. There will be a rug. The curtains are hung at this height because of the way the other windows are. Not sure how else to hang curtains in a sunroom like this except for a right along the top of the window casing.
