“We mulled over our screen porch design for about 5 years, meeting with several architects and contractors, but couldn’t pin down what we wanted. Mannie Afonso from Riversedge Renovations came highly recommended by two friends, and sure enough, he was able to walk us through the process of designing and building our dream porch. Mannie’s architectural background is a huge asset; he did our architectural drawings, and we found it very advantageous to have a contractor with this skill. Mannie was patient with all of our questions, new ideas, pictures of what we wanted, and any changes that we made along the way; his goal was definitely to provide us with a product that pleased us in the end. Probably the most important thing to us was that he stuck to the original budget that he quoted us; there were absolutely no surprises or add-ons to the original quote. Our screen porch is gorgeous! His ideas such as keeping the ceiling natural wood, adding the catwalk around the porch and using easy to maintain materials make the space unique and very livable. He has done other smaller projects on our house that we are just as satisfied with, and we intend to work with him on any future projects/renovations. “We hired Maria to re-design our master bathroom, laundry room, and master closet in the spring of 2007. She provided excellent written documentation of the scope of the project, detailed graphics of the proposed project and accompanied me to sale rooms to choose the various components of her design. She was able to design an excellent option for our laundry room to allow for the inclusion of a new utility sink and a folding area with wall cabinet above (using a hinged counter top and magnetic cleat). Initially she proposed using a general contractor that was not licensed in MA so we chose own contractor but she was able to work well with him in executing the design. Overall, a great job.”
