I am glad to be learning about whether one should move or stay during a home remodeling project. Learning that one should definitely move out if the roof is coming off to create a second story makes sense. I have also heard that kitchen remodels are a good thing to do if you are looking to increase your home value to sell in the future. http://www.sawhorseusa.com/portfolio/kitchens/

In my opinion I would definitely prefer Full house renovation as compared to moving out of your house. Renovation can certainly add a more comforting feeling to your home and you can make your home sustainable and energy efficient through installing energy efficient equipment's.

I’m planning to begin a major remodel in the near future and had planned to continue living here during the project. I had thought through a lot of it, but never thought about the challenges involved in coordinating schedules re working electric power/gas and water! And my project will involve substantial re-routing of all of the above. I am starting to look for alternate living quarters as we “speak”. Thank you for the great information!
