smeddley is correct. Most electrical inspectors would fail this installation. We have a design for appliance storage in a drawer or behind a cabinet like this that turns the power off when the drawer or cabinet door is closed. Even with turning the power off the Inspector may reject the outlet location. GFI? Da' for sure!

Whether it's GFI expected or not, common sense tells you it's bad to have a hair dryer near water.

We unfortunately do not have the details about this hardware that was provided by others. The Knobbery website carried it last year and you can browse by the exact size you need. www.knobbery.com. Best of luck with your project!

This is such a good idea. Thank you. I am going to put the outlet behind the vanity near a bank of drawers. That will keep the outlet farther from the water source, and the dryer can live in the drawer.

Depends where you live and the electrical code. GFI receptacles are required near any wet source where I live ( Even if not required it is a good idea)

This is one of our most appreciated pictures! We are always on the lookout for new organization and storage accessories, here is another styling station idea from Medallion Cabinets that we love!

The countertop is a granite remnant that was picked by the homeowner. I am sorry, I do not know what color it was.

This is actually against the electrical safety code. Receptacles are not allowed inside closed cabinets with doors ( unless the code has been changed ). Its to guard against situations where someone may forget to turn something off. Which in this case, if it was the curling iron could cause a fire. Just food for thought for anyone who might consider doing this.

We purchased this rack online, but it is no longer available. However there are similar units available. If you google blow dryer rack, some should come up. Thanks for inquiring :)

But there are plenty of other home features like appliance knobs and hinges configured so a left-handed person needs to reach across their body or turn their body an unnatural way to access them. Of course, this doesn’t have to be the case. Things like refrigerator hinges and cabinet pulls can be moved to an opposite, more comfortable side relatively easily, experts say.

The backs of cabinet doors can benefit from storage racks.

How come I've never thought of this? A simple rack mounted inside a cabinet door, just like the ones designed to hold dish soap or extra paper towels, creates a ready-made spot for the dryer when you're done with it.
