Floor to Ceiling Fireplace in Living RoomModern , Vancouver

The fireplace is 54” long x 18” high, Montigo Nestled into the trees, the simple forms of this home seem one with nature. Designed to collect rainwater and exhaust the home’s warm air in the summer, the double-incline roof is defined by exposed beams of beautiful Douglas fir. The Original plan was designed with a growing family in mind, but also works well for this client’s destination location and entertaining guests. The 3 bedroom, 3 bath home features en suite bedrooms on both floors. In the great room, an operable wall of glass opens the house onto a shaded deck, with spectacular views of Center Bay on Gambier Island. Above - the peninsula sitting area is the perfect tree-fort getaway, for conversation and relaxing. Open to the fireplace below and the trees beyond, it is an ideal go-away place to inspire and be inspired.

Is there a way to convert my current gas fireplace to this look by taking out logs and putting in rocks?

    Hi John,

It depends on the make and model of your fireplace. Several fireplaces come with different insert options to change the look of the inside of your fireplace, which style you typically specify at the time you order your unit. Best bet would be to talk with a local retailer who sells your make and model of fireplace and see what options are available. Hope that helps.

Yes their does need to be grout between the tile pieces. However a profession tiler will be able to achieve a clean minimal grout look. It also helps to match your grout colour to the tiles well.
