Custom Color and Art
As Southern California is suffering from a prolonged drought, homeowners are looking for ways to replace their lawns creatively.
Here I designed ground cover using a combination of different river rocks and other stones making a focal point with a repurposed boat used as a planter for succulents.
The Cultivated Gardeners
June 2017 Just over a year since planting, and the lawn alternatives have filled in beautifully. The sunniest area near the road is Wooly Thyme; the centre is micro clover; and the shadiest part (behind the garden bed in photo) is planted with Pratia (Blue Star Creeper). We were worried that our unusually cold and prolonged winter might kill off one or more of the ground covers, but all looked healthy.
Impressions Landscape - Design
A bold vibrant planting scheme design was adopted to give the property a resort style feel, and an almost prehistoric horticultural journey of depth, texture and colour.
