Wabimoss
These two large moss collages in a hallway makes use of preserved moss. Showcasing a beautiful green color against the walls. This type of plant art brings nature indoors. It gives a subtle sense of a spiritual connection to a calm presence. The nice thing about these panels is that it is real moss, but has been preserved so there is no watering or upkeep. It will look the same for years.

The solid stone "moon gate" is the primary entry to the garden. It frames the pagoda style pavilion and the "good karma" boulder.
Our masons hand chiseled each stone on site and set the stone against a wooden arched form to ensure consistency of the arc.

The location and placement of the Japanese Tea House is very specific and was based on mathematical, metaphysical and spiritual principles. This Tea House is an artistic version of an authentic style Tea House. It is meant to be a one of a kind art piece and yet has the functional capability of holding a traditional Tea ceremony.

Japanese Tea House interior designed art glass window containing a number of different materials. The design contains metaphysical and spiritual principles. Directly above and below the window frame are hand carved inlays. All our art glass designs are copyrighted and a book comes with each detailing the metaphysical meanings involved. They are signed and the pattern is never repeated.

Photo shows the interior of the Japanese Tea House. The four skylights have hand carved overlay screens. The open ceiling shows the beauty of the design. The structure is very sustainable in that the building can be left to age naturally or oiled every few years to retain the wood color.

The challenge was to create a sophisticated conservatory, hosting an array of technical functions, yet providing a real connection to the outdoors. A self-sustaining koi pond, motorized windows and shades, fire suppression system, radiant heating and diverse lighting systems were some of the functions cloaked by the sapele wood frame. The simplicity of the Jerusalem stone flooring, bluestone pond coping and marine varnished sapele wood create an understated grace, thereby letting the symbols, shape and feel of the space set the spiritual stage.

The curved shape of the roof reflects the laminated lens-shaped lenticular trusses that make up the interior structure, with metal roofing and a corrugated steel soffit providing protection from the harsh elements. A juniper log found on the surrounding hillside received a vigorous sanding and environmentally friendly finish to function as the porch corner post.
