Roman and Chris are exceptional! We are SOOOO grateful to bspk Design for creating our dream home! They were a delight to work with – from visionary architectural design, to elevated curation/interior design and project management. Chris and Roman helped us navigate a very difficult project as we began our full gut reno just a few weeks before the pandemic hit in 2020. This meant we were caught in a nightmare permitting process as the city and almost all construction shut down. I was also pregnant and gave birth during construction so had very little time/energy to manage our rebuild. Because of Roman's meticulous eye for design and attention to detail, we were able to confidently defer to them almost entirely for architecture and design decisions – which was a HUGE relief! (We especially appreciated Roman's European sensibility and elevated, minimal style.) They were extremely patient and gracious with what turned out to be a COVID-convoluted process with two novices (us!). They skillfully helped moderate couple "design disagreements" ;) and maximized our property's function, form and beauty. bspk created a "forever home" beyond our wildest dreams! Roman and Chris have been excellent partners in the redesign of my home. I've enjoyed getting to know them and come to rely upon their honest and friendly expertise. Their meticulous attention to detail is superb - from staircase step height to meet permitting requirements to the slight expansion of the width of a closet doorway to accommodate for a washer and dryer (we had no idea where to put these appliances until Roman came up with this clever solution!). Though these things may seem like obvious parts of a redesign plan, every centimeter of space in my very small home makes a huge difference. We also worked closely together during the design process to maximize my space by reconfiguring the small garage to be an ADU. I truly appreciate their 'bespoke' approach to custom design where they follow a project from start to finish. From getting permits to meeting with multiple contractors and accepting their bids, Roman and Chris are your advocates. These project management details are extremely important to the overall success of your project. I highly recommend you meet with them and present your project needs. We feel fortunate to have enlisted the services of Roman R. and BSPK Design, Inc., to supervise an extensive remodel of our newly purchased home in the LA hills (18 mo. project). I had never used a full time architect prior to this, and my impression was that architects only provide structural plans and analysis. To Roman's great credit, he not only supervised our GC, he referred us (and accompanied us) to many superb material suppliers and specialty subcontractors (of which I would have been clueless -- we were remodeling from OOT). These vendors included cabinet supplier, appliances, hardware, plumbing, flooring, fireplace design, tile and marble needs, a front pivot door, paint choices, electric shades, home house automation, exterior patio design, and landscaping needs. His attention to detail is exceptional (true perfectionist), but also willing to compromise. In addition, he remains focused to make timely decisions (it can be overwhelming). Roman is a pleasant to work with, and I always looked forward to our meetings. In addition their charges seemed very reasonable for the services they provide.

Absolutely stunning orchestration of architectural engineering, artistic interior design, and construction management, BSPK under the direction of Chris and Roman is the A-Z complete package. From day one, the duo brings to the table a clear vision and statement for the project, which unfolds in the coming months with clear execution that pivots around the same theme that brings every detail of the project together. They are keen to details, willing to listen and accommodate clients’ ideas, and at the same time cost effective in favor of the client. Chris and Roman were given a very difficult task of revitalizing a 80 years old 5500 sq ft house that had a diffirent theme in every single room to start with. The goal was a transitional house that maintains the general blueprint of the original house while giving it a complete facelift that touched every inch of the house. They did exactly that and more. The original scope of architectural remodeling was therefore rewarded with added scope of interior design and furnishing of the entire space. I will not hesitate to entrust our next project, either a new contruction or another remodeling project to Chris and Roman. As an architectural firm, I wish they will one day bring under their belt the general contractor role to make the experience even more seemless because I believe they are more than capable of wearing that hat as well.

I found Roman on Houzz and hired him to design my home remodel over the summer. I bought a small 2 bedroom house in Venice and bspk truly turned this into a beautiful coastal cottage oasis and it is now my dream home!! They were with me every step of the way from inspections through hiring contractors. We vaulted the ceilings, took down a wall to turn it into an open floor plan, and he offered amazing insight, design, and advice regarding aesthetics, coloring, painting, light flow as we were putting in skylights, etc. With minor adjustments the house feels 3x the size and i couldn't be happier!! Beyond being experts in their field, just truly exceptional individuals. I felt protected through the entire process especially as i am young and was buying my first home!! It was great to have a partner with wisdom who has seen it all before.

I’m on my second remodel with Roman Reiterer. In the first one, 11 years ago, we took my house down to the studs and rebuilt and refurnished it. If you are reading this, you are doing the exact same thing we did when we started our journey to remodel our home. You are doing research to find the best home Designer that can help you. Finding a Designer is such a personal selection, and ultimately it needs to feel right. For us, Roman was head and shoulders above anyone else we spoke with. For us, the most important aspect was selecting someone who knew home design inside and out, and was experienced in creating a full vision. We wanted a modern motif, but were limited as we were only remodeling our kitchen and dining rooms. We also had a pretty clear budget on what we could afford to get it all done. I will cover both the design and budget, but the summary is we were completely happy with everything Roman provided. From a design aspect, Roman was a true professional and a master of his craft. He covered layout, drawings, floor space, lighting, colors, etc. Nothing was missed, and we got exactly what we wanted. It was a learning process for us, as we knew what we liked in a vacuum but never thought about big picture design until Roman explained it to us. This is where a professional helps tremendously. If the question is “do we really need a designer” in your mind, the answer is “yes”. The value Roman provided laid the foundation for the design of our entire home. We could not have been happier with our layout, and overall look & feel. Our new space is amazing. From a budget stand point, Roman paid for himself quickly. The cost for Roman’s work is amazing, and he provided value in 2 aspects. First, he provides many options that deliver the look you want based on cost. There are many ways to accomplish what you want in a space, and different cost options to achieve that design. Roman helped outline those, and gave us choices based on how much we wanted to spend. There are always pros and cons with any solution and an unlimited budget makes those decisions easier, but that wasn’t an option for us. For us, the flexibility to pick and choose and still meet our design goals was critical. Roman’s experience, skill and design knowledge attributed to that. The last point was Roman being able to validate the cost proposals from our contractors to ensure our pricing was fair and accurate. Having a separate third party validate work estimates from your contractor is worth having Roman’s time alone. I think every home owner wants to make sure their General Contractor is giving them a fair rate and is not forgetting anything. Bottom line, Roman’s time is worth it and I believe he pays for himself over the course of your design project. Home remodeling is stressful, fun, exciting, and time intensive. From this experience, I wish I used Roman on past remodel work. Going forward, I plan to involve him in everything we do related to space creation and home design.

RRID is a company I have hired before and I will hire again. From the beginning, Roman was very transparent as well as cunning, with some of the project infrastructure challenges that we faced. In 2012 I purchased one of the Gregory Ain's Mar Vista Preservation homes which was in very bad condition. My goal was to (re)create a modern 21st century home while maintaining the spirit of what Gregory Ain had intended. Roman worked with me, City Planning and the HPOZ to satisfy all governmental and aesthetic requirements for a complete remodel of my house using the mathematics of the original house and facades to fit all preservation requirements. Understanding the city requirements and my personal vision, Roman was able to seamlessly connect the old with the new, as well as create a perfect inside/outside living space for the California lifestyle in a way Ain's intended and truly brought my dream house to life. In addition to providing the architectural guidance on my house, Roman helped specify all surface materials and helped guide me throughout the construction process, which we were ale to complete on time and in budget. He uniquely understands every aspect of building a residential home from design to finish and I have since collaborated with him very successfully on several other residential custom and investment homes.

I have hired over 35 sub contractors for my home renovations in the past months and there is only 1 that I can honestly say went above and beyond what was expected. Roman is an exceptionally brilliant and talented designer. He came into my project that was already underway and pending disaster. The home renovation was large by most standards but had a tight budget and timing was of the essence. Roman was able to work within that budget getting everything completed fast.. He has a very good eye for great things at a reasonable cost. He was easy to work, very patient and a pleasure throughout the entire renovation process. His knowledge and talent likely added more than 30% to the value of my home. I would be quick to recommend him for any size project.

Roman helped us add great beauty and value to our house, providing two different services. He provided a truly inspired and resourceful master redesign for our house that would carve out additional bedrooms, add a walk-in closet, and create more useful bathrooms, all within the existing footprint of our home.
