Our 1910 foursquare had lots of doors and dark hallways. Jill reconfigured our first floor, which included removing a support wall in the living room, moving the basement staircase, designing a breakfast nook, and redesigning our bathroom and laundry room. Jill listened to our feedback throughout the process, provided excellent suggestions, and worked collaboratively with everyone involved in construction. She understood completely our wish to keep the character of our old house, while making it much more livable.

When my husband and I decided to update our 30 year old home, Jill was the first person we called. That was our best decision! Jill provided wonderful choices for us in a very respectful and timely manner. We have not regretted one decision and are extremely pleased with not only the appearance but the ease with which our home was transformed. Working with Jill was a very positive experience.

Jill collaborated with us on the restoration of our 1913 bungalow. She brought great sensitivity and practicality to the process. Her work and opinions were respected by our contractor, which facilitated the renovation and saved us money. I especially appreciate the way she reproduced the pattern of a bedroom balcony railing for the construction of a new railing around the flat roof of the attached garage, which converted an eyesore into an asset. She also designed the remodel of our kitchen making it fun and efficient to cook in.

Our 1913 Craftsman foursquare had 4 bedrooms and one very small bathroom on the second floor. Jill reconfigured the smallest bedroom and the bathroom which was adjacent to it into a spacious compartmentalized bathroom with a tiled shower stall, clawfoot tub and two sinks. In the process she discovered an intact window that had been covered up by the old fiberglass shower/tub enclosure. We now have abundant natural light and a much more functional bathroom. As a bonus, part of the old bedroom became a walk-in closet for my wife!
For the next project, Jill reconfigured our kitchen to give us more workspace and storage, while restoring the Craftsman character that had been lost in 1950's and 60's remodels. We love our kitchen!

Jill did some design work for us on an older raised ranch we purchased on a beautiful piece of property in the woods. We loved the property more than the home, which had had little updating in its nearly 40 years. We gutted almost the entire house and Jill came up with some very creative ideas to transform it into wonderful space to meet all of needs. She designed a wonderful 'bump out design' with a new entry filled with light and depth. It changed the front facade of the house completely! She also designed a complete switch of the kitchen and dining room, adding an island and assisting us in re-purposing many of the cabinets. Jill knew how to move a wall to allow for the addition of a master bath and walk-in closet without giving up any of the 3 bedrooms. Jill was a good listener, innovative and prompt. It was a pleasure working with her!

I hired Jill for her design expertise when I wanted a traditional bungalow kitchen for my 1918 house. She drew detailed design plans, working around some difficult configurations of the room (door way placement, chimney obstacle) still staying within my budget. She figured out all the lighting fixture placement, and helped with selection of fixtures, flooring (linoleum!), and cabinet hardware and colors.
Jill is very diplomatic and a pleasure to work with. She kept the project moving, and saved me from some color mistakes.
She worked very well with the general contractor. I felt like I had someone on my side who understood my wishes for a very period look. She offered alternatives for cabinets, which helped me decide on the custom cabinets I got.
I am SO PLEASED with the end result, and I don't think it would have reflected as many of my preferences if I hadn't had Jill on the team. Her charges and very reasonable, and it's money well spent on design. I recommend her heartily!
