Martin Brandwein provided architectural and design services for my cooperative apartment renovation. He was courteous, creative, talented, demonstrated ample experience, and conducted the multi-month process with professionalism and leadership. We replaced the kitchen and bath of the unit in the 1929 Emery Roth neoclassical building on the Upper East Side, and added a large laundry/utility closet and French doors which replaced an older sliding door set, requiring altering a wall. His design ideas and creative solutions were impressive. Martin's training and expertise in classical architecture meshed completely with my aesthetic and goals for the apartment, and I am very happy with the outcome. He interacted in a cordial and professional way with the coop managing agents, resident manager, and contracting team -- a critical aspect of any renovation or building project. Martin has completed 3 renovations for us on 2 different properties. First, he completed an overhaul of a pre-war majestic apartment on the Upper West Side. His attention to detail in all phases of the project from plans to choosing contractors to overseeing the construction were absolutely impeccable and the project finished on time with a completed punch list. We sold our apartment at a huge financial gain because of the renovation. We then purchased a century old home in Westchester and called in Martin for a 2 phase renovation. Phase 1 to get us into the house and Phase 2 for a new kitchen and extension on the house. Once again he ran the project with absolute professionalism and timely attention. He can handle small projects-- reworking a bathroom or enormous 8,000 sq ft homes. Furthermore, he has excellent taste and high standards.

I worked with Martin Brandwein on an extensive remodeling and renovation project, that included merging two apartments, designing two bathrooms and recreating a large kitchen with a dining area. I was extremely impressed with both Martin's creative ideas and his attention to every details throughout the entire process. From researching contractors, designing spaces, finding the best materials at the most competitive prices, to ensuring that the project remained within schedule and budget, it was a pleasure working with Martin and I highly recommend him for any architectural project. I hired Martin Brandwein Architects to design my home and could not have been more delighted. it is rare to find someone who is so knowledgeable in his or her field, and so accessible at the same time. Martin and his staff were so detail oriented and took such a vested interest in making sure the project ran smoothly, often going above and beyond their job description. He and his wife Susan were delightful to deal with, and their breadth of knowledge and expertise is astounding. No portion of the building process , from the initial stages of planning, to the construction phase was not attended to with the utmost care and precision. Despite the myriad issues that arose during the stressful process of building a home, they always remained non-plussed. We are extremely pleased with our home and could not have achieved this beautiful outcome without them!
