My husband and I recently purchased property on the coast of Maine to build our dream home. Salmon Falls came highly recommended from former clients as well as our builder. We had no idea that the design and construction of a new house require so much planning and knowledge. It can be quite daunting. I arrived at our first meeting with nothing but ideas and pictures. Salmon Falls was able to translate our vision into drawings and walk us through every aspect of the design and building process. Our amazing new home will be complete in March. It is unique, elegant and embodies the traditional coastal charm that we wanted. We throughly enjoyed working with the entire team at Salmon Falls. They are a talented group of architects who show great attention to detail while still maintaining a relaxed and easy professionalism.
Paul, Roger, Rob and the Salmon Falls Crew has been instrumental in helping our family build or restore three separate properties, two if which are on the ocean. SFA has the ability to capture your vision of the property and yet offer ideas and suggestions that complement your core concept. SFA challenges you and in the end, you have a well-thought out finished product that is timeless in its beauty and simplicity. I highly recommend SFA to others. Dana Dakers
We hired Salmon Falls to build a new house on the coast of Maine. They did a fabulous job and it was a pleasure working with them. Paul Gosselin is a great designer, especially of shingle style, which is what we wanted. Yet, on the interior we wanted a more updated open floor plan. We had a tight footprint on the lot but Paul gave us everything we asked for. The attention to the architectural, wood working detail is remarkable - remarkable in the design, a lot of which was done by Rob Freeman, and remarkable in the execution by Chase Construction, the Builder. I might also add that Roger Rossignol importantly knows how to engineer a house to withstand hurricanes on the coast of Maine. Paul has a marvelous eye for scale and proportion and we think he did it just right. The house is 8000 sq ft but it does not scream mansion. We have worked with other architects but Salmon Falls is the best. They listen to the client.
Paul and Salmon Falls created a home I had only dreamed about. I wanted a shingle style beach house and it required many approvals and actually lifting an existing home, building a flow through foundation, replacing the home on the new foundation and finally building the home which Paul had designed. Paul has extraordinary knowledge of this style home and educated me with regard to details so important to the character of the home. He was so respectful of my lack of knowledge and never expressed impatience. As a single person I was a bit overwhelmed by the project initially. Paul made this an amazing experience - one which my family will enjoy for generations, hopefully!!
