Jessica, Efraim, and Kayla at Zeitgeist were a joy to work with and we could not be happier with the final result. We needed a reasonably-priced architecture and design firm to convert a dated cottage on the Russian River into a more contemporary and comfortable space that was true to its history and setting. Zeitgeist helped us evaluate the range of options, with an eye towards the practical and financial implications of each. Once we settled on a complete renovation within the existing footprint of the home, they proposed an ingenious floor plan that took full advantage of the site and existing infrastructure but was new and fresh and clever. No detail was overlooked; they excelled at maximizing the small footprint with sleek built-ins, sleeping nooks, and blind doors that hide bountiful storage and laundry. Zeitgeist guided us through the selection of engineers and a contractor; development and refinement of a budget; permitting; and a long list of design choices. They kept a close eye on construction and helped us troubleshoot issues as they arose. Meanwhile, Jessica worked with us to select colors, finishes, fixtures, and design details. She deftly guided us while adapting to our aesthetic and budget, and drew on her deep rolodex of local sources and craftspeople. Throughout the process, Zeitgeist was proactive, communicative and attuned to our needs and desires; they designed the home as we wanted it, subject to our budgetary constraints. Our river home is now better than we ever could have imagined it. They captured the soul of the old cottage we fell in love with despite all its flaws, but transformed it into something entirely new and original.

I am way past due in sharing this review, but I think it has helped that we've had a year to live in our renovated home. When we initially met with Jessica and Efrain, we knew we wanted to open up our living spaces more, but once we started thinking about taking out walls, we just didn't know where to go from there to keep it a well planned space that feels cozy and inviting. Efraim and Jessica listened to our goals and came back with a reconfigured floor plan for our main living areas that open up the main living areas but also provided a Bonus room that has given me a beautiful home office and a ton of cubby/storage space for the detritus of our busy family. Since I work from home it's a bonus that I can close that room off when I need the separation. Their level of attention to detail, and skill and experience in planning living spaces is priceless. There are so many little details that contribute to the livability of our home. From the beautiful under cabinet lighting, to a coffee station that hides away the clutter. Our home is gorgeous, cohesive, cozy and livable. It's a pleasure to work in a kitchen that is completely functional, with drawers and cabinetry smartly planned to maximize functionality and organization. I would not hesitate to work with this team again, or to refer them to friends and family.

Zeitgeist was a great fit for our project. The team came up with some really creative solutions for our remodel, specifically, a new layout for an awkward master bath, a hidden pantry captured from free space and a beautiful coffee bar. They have organized flow in place that kept us moving on our project and keep us on top of what was next. For those that aren't interested in every detail of design, Zeitgeist could take the lead and deliver a beautiful finished home. With our project, we, the homeowners, had a very strong design aesthetic and preferred to get into the details. The team respected that and complimented our vision with their experience, advice and direction. Jessica also had great references for local lighting, tile and cabinet makers that helped bring our vision to life. We are so pleased with our remodel and finished dream home.

Jessica and her team at Zeitgeist Sonoma delivered a stellar end result : a stunningly beautiful and livable home. And she did it on-time and on-budget! That very good outcome stemmed from her willingness and ability to really listen to how we wanted to use the spaces and the emotional responses we wanted to create. After losing our home in a wildfire, my husband and I decided to rebuild a modern home that would take advantage of our hilltop views and pastoral setting. Zeitgeist Sonoma provided a full range of architectural and design services that resulted in a beautiful modern home with clean lines and calm flowing spaces. They were responsive to our questions and needs, and team was easy to work with. The full team has a design aesthetic that respects and took advantage of the site and that allowed our home to 'blend in' to the natural landscaping. There were some initial bumps in the process when actual construction started, but Zeitgeist and the contractor began meeting regularly to address questions and issues. We had a very positive and professional experience with Zeitgeist. Our project consisted of complete remodeling of two bathrooms (moving plumbing, upgrading and adding electrical, etc.) as well as a partial remodel of master bathroom to include cabinetry and a new fireplace. They LISTEN to what we were trying to achieve with our designs and remodels and offered great feedback and some alternative ideas, which we appreciated. Their attention to detail is excellent. The drawing provided to us from which our contractor and subs worked were clear and easy for them to follow. They happily accommodated changes, were a terrific asset to procuring lighting fixtures, fans, hardware, tile, and all needed items. We would happily work with them on future projects.

Jessica has a wonderful eye for color and design. In the midst of her busy schedule she took on my project. Coming in from the loss of my home in the fires she helped me furnish an empty home that was completely overwhelming. She helped me break it into doable segments. With her help my home is now cozy, functional, and current. She’s very conscientious, considerate, and transparent. I look forward to continuing to work with her and the Zeitgeist team in the future. Efraim, Jessica, and their staff are very easy to collaborate with. With my 30+ years experience as a design professional (landscape architect) working with multi-disciplinary project teams, I found communication to be excellent. Our design project, converting a garage addition into an elegant and compliant accessory dwelling unit (ADU), involved concept and design development, and a presentation ready for our municipality's design review board. Delivery, which included several schemes with tight constraints and a perfect final design, was on time and on budget.

My husband and I purchased a 1951 Ranch home which was rife with poor everything: plumbing, electricity, shoddy cabinetry, etc., etc. The wonderful couple (Designer/Architect of Zeitgeist), came in and were able to open up kitchen areas, introduce cool and handsome cabinetry and lighting (to name just a couple), re-design 3 bathrooms and bring to it all a fresh, contemporary look.
