Artisan Iron

I first met Ray of Artisan Iron when he was involved with my furniture maker in the design of the bases of 4 tables I had made for my client. We moved on from there to have him create built-in fireplace screen doors for her large family room fireplace. I provided a basic sketch and Ray ran with it, customizing his textured steel design to the stonework patterns around the firebox by using distressed copper panels. It was a great experience and my client is super happy with the result. I will use him again.

My firm has used Ray on a few different projects; as a matter of fact he is our "go to" person for custom metalwork. Whether it be a difficult, curving, curly railing; custom forged cabinet hardware; or a freeform sculptural railing incorporating salvaged components, Ray makes it happen. He excels at listening to the client and architect, and then creating a beautiful product that is responsive to our wishes and is above our expectations; he is a true team player. Ray understands the beauty that is in the metal and uses his talents to bring it out. We will be using Ray for many more projects to come!

I had a dream, a vision, and Ray Ciemny was the artist that realized it. Simply by providing him with pictures and designs he was able to create it while following the CT building code. One of the staircases was curved and therefore challenging to build, all made to order and crafted in his shop. It turned out great, one of the most spectacular staircases you will see on his page. As we had a tight budget, Ray was able to create a straight back staircase and loft railing at a better price by ordering pre made pieces that he assembled. The entire project was then faux painted with a gorgeous bronze finish. Ray worked hard in order to realize my project within a tough time frame. I would highly recommend Ray Ciemny.

I did not want the stock railings that you buy from a catalog for my stairs. I called many places that I saw on Houzz that did creative, specialty railings for my home. Some did not even get back to me. Ray was easy to talk to, very attentive and worked with me on the price. The railing that he put in my home is amazing. It is a beautiful piece of artwork which you see as soon as you walk in my front door. Everyone comments on it. I am SO happy I found Ray of Artisan Iron. I would recommend him highly.
