Look Studio is a resource for designers and buyers who appreciate the many ways digital photography can be used in today’s interiors. Aspen Valley resident, Gayle Waterman began experimenting with her digital camera and macro lens to see if she could capture the qualities of Abstract Expressionism through photography. These abstract images challenge traditional photography and its place in the abstract art world. With an appreciation for primitive furniture and architecture, Gayle transforms the patina of time into abstract images suited for a modern home or commercial space. The use of color and texture on canvas shift the context of the original piece into an art form that inspires us to look deeply in life and find beauty beyond the surface—to know there is something greater than the obvious. Whether printed on fabric as a room divider or as a provocative collection of art in a specific color palette, the design opportunities are endless with images from Look Studio.

Gayle, artist and owner of Look Studio, is the whole package... starting with her creative eye, unique artistic process and keen sense of color and style, all with a warm customer focus through to framing, delivery and, where possible, personal installation. Simply put, Gayle's touch transformed our space... A sample of our recent communications with her: Gayle, here's Rain Forrest I&II installed... thank you!!! Does placement look right to you? We're very happy with spacial presence, color, style, and "feel" in the room... Tom's already talking about getting a different couch... and makes us want to do something about that fireplace... thoughts?

Loved talking with Gayle about her work and picking out the right art for me. She explained the "Blue Highways" and what it meant to her. Love this piece and love all of her work!
I was fortunate to be present at the grand opening of Look Studio at the Altamira Ranch in October 2011. The studio is aptly named. Gayle's photography truly does inspire one to look beyond the surface and discover what lays hidden below. I commissioned a piece for my home that night! The process went smoothly and in a timely manner my "Queen" was hand delivered and placed in her position of honor. I would not hesitate to work with Gayle again. Her background in design, antiques, and historic preservation gives her a unique perspective that is reflected in her photography.
My husband and I love Gayle's photography artwork. We asked her to bring samples to our home as we had a specific place needing color--lots of it. We picked what we liked best from 8" x 11" photo then told her we wanted image to be divided into six pieces each 3' x 3'. Gayle was able to show us how the artwork would look on our wall and within weeks, the pieces were done and hung. It is so dramatic and we absolutely love it! Working with Gayle was such a pleasure. Great lady with great talent!
I have known Gayle Waterman all her life. When I saw her work I ask her to please bring a portifoilo of some things I might be interested in adding to my collection. She came to my home with her laptop and we selected several that we thought would compliment my other art. She then brought back 8X10 color copies of the ones we had chosen. Together with my husband we selected one that is absolutely wonderful for us. The perfect size and compliments our other art. It is "Azul " 45" by 31". She came and brought it framed and hung it in the most professional manner.
