We ordered a mirror for newly redecorated bathroom. The mirror was beautiful, however, it did not fit. There was no offer or shipping assistance for returning product. I was dismayed to find I had to pay $72.38 to ship it back to them. When I called to ask if they offered any discount return shipping, the answer was “we don’t but you can check USPS, UPS and FedEx to see who is cheapest.” Their shipment to me was extremely slow to arrive. I have to believe they must have a way to offer a return label with less expensive shipping.

Told 3-5 days for shipment over the phone from ownership. Charged 12.75$ freight, labeled as fed ex ground “quick ship” on the invoiced emailed to me. Emailed them for an explanation and tracking number or shipment methods upon inspecting the invoice. I received No reply. 8 days later I placed a phone call to them. They tell me it was shipped that day. The 8th day, not 3 or 5 or 7, the 8th! Then, they sent me a revised invoice which shows it’s shipped UPS ground now. So, it’s expected 18 days later as I’m writing this. I’m a local carpenter who tried to support a local business during these trying times. Don’t make the same mistake I did we these folks. Oh by the way, it was a 300$ pair of hinges for high profile client project. Whom I now has lost trust in me. Thanks CCB!

I called before I placed an order to determine if parts were in stock and told they were, so I placed my order on a Monday. 3 days later I called to ask the shipping status and was told they were scheduled to ship almost 2 weeks later. After advising that I was told the items would ship from stock I was placed on hold and then told the parts would ship from another location (Chicago) on Thursday or Friday. The following Thursday I receive a notice that my credit card has been refunded from AMEX. I received no notice from Cape Cod Brass. I placed the order elsewhere that morning and have UPS tracking information showing delivery will be made 3 business days after my order. I will never use Cape Cod Brass again.

I will never purchase anything from this company. The item I ordered was misrepresented on the website and they wanted nothing to do with paying for the return label. The companies I do business with always pay for the return if there is a problem. The sales person, Robert, was rude and ended our conversation abruptly. I have since contacted the manufacturer, not Cape Cod Brass. The manufacturer is working with me to resolve the situation.

If I could give less than 1 I would! Online ordered over 40 days ago, called twice and emailed 3 times - no follow up. Called today to check again and they had NO idea when ready, no apology, no suggestion. Asked for a manager who was COMPLETELY rude and not helpful. They called back to say another 30 days till order would ship. Don't waste your time or your project will be seriously delayed and they don't care about customers and should NOT be in the customer service business.

BEWARE of this company. They charge an egregious 25% restocking fee on ALL returns - even when the item being returned was never even unboxed or unwrapped. What's more, if you want to return an item, you have to box, label, insure and track the package yourself -- they don't provide any return labels or any assistance whatsoever. Their "customer service" stops at the purchase phase. Other companies selling comparable products at comparable prices have FAR more customer friendly return policies. Don't buy from these guys!

I called Cape Cod Brass to see if I could return items if I didn't like them or they didn't fit. I was told yes, as long as they were returned in new and saleable condition. The items are too big and I called to see if I needed a return authorization and was told there is a 25% restocking fee. The person who told me I could return should have mentioned the restocking fee or referenced the return sales policy. I did not see any mention of that online, but I am told that, legally, it is available. I expect a business with decent customer service would mention this restocking fee when a customer calls to inquire about returning items prior to ordering. I have never experienced a company that had less sensitivity to a customer than this one. I would not consider buying anything from them ever again.

We used Cape Cod Brass to order custom cabinet hardware for our kitchen. They have the best prices on the web, but they consistently misrepresent how long the order will take. It took over two months (9 weeks) to receive an order which online says it takes 2 weeks, and which over the phone they say takes 5 weeks.
They blamed the supplier each of the four weeks I called, but insisted they couldn't do anything to accelerate the supplier's delivery and insisted that I cannot contact the supplier directly. By end of week 8, I called the supplier who told me that Cape Cod Brass sells customers with unrealistic deadlines, and they (the supplier) are quite clear that the orders often take 8-10 weeks.
Cape Cod Brass's customer service is curt as best and rude at worst. While I would have liked to patronize them again (support local business), it isn't worth the hassle.

I'm disappointed to see this review. This was your second order you had placed with Colonial Bronze. The first order took 8 weeks as well. We called Colonial Bronze evey time you checked on your order which was over the Christmas holiday. After checking on the order you demanded we give you credit on the order for the delay of which we told you we couldn't do. We also gave you the toll free number to call them. Finally you chargebacked the entire order with the credit card company after receiving the product. We can only provide you with the lead times that Colonial Bronze has given us. We even offered to give you a full refund and cancel the order of which you declined. I'm sorry the Colonial Bronze lead times were unacceptable to you but they refused to give any credit and don't advise scheduling until the product is in hand.
