When we first set out to completely remodel our kitchen, we felt at a loss about how to proceed to get more countertop space and cabinet storage while also making room for a larger refrigerator. After disappointing contacts with other designers, we finally found Sam at Schmitz Woodworks, who cheerfully showed us the way forward. Sam was an absolute pleasure to work with, as was her dad and the whole team at Schmitz. She quickly came up with a beautiful and creative custom cabinet design that also served as our overall roadmap to a new, beautiful and way more functional kitchen. I have to say that the overall design and installation experience with Schmitz was as close to perfection as I can imagine, and definitely the most fun and rewarding part of the whole remodel project, which is what moves me to write this review (only the second online review I’ve ever written). To sum it all up, 5 plus stars for stunningly wonderful results, patient and sure guidance, easy and enjoyable experience, and excellent value to cost ratio.

A new kitchen is a big, emotional project and expensive. Cabinets make or break the whole deal. After looking at a few different cabinet options, custom, semi-custom and pre fab, I realized that going with Schmitz was actually the best value. Not only did I get exactly what I wanted, but Sam, Dave and team made sure it was perfect. I am beyond thrilled!

My Schmitz bathroom and kitchen cabinets are as beautiful as they are functional. Team Schmitz is amazing to work with from project design, planning, construction to installation — the smallest of details were not missed. And when I changed my mind and a wall, they were flexible making changes with ease. Schmitz was a delight to work with, they made my home renovation project an on time on budget success.

This was our first kitchen remodel, lots of unknowns, and we needed the opportunity to visualize outcomes. We had a pretty good idea for what we wanted but add Sam Schmitz, the showroom, some awesome CAD designs, and we locked things in pretty fast. Timing of construction was right on, cabinet installers did an excellent job, and my favorites was the person that I would call "The Closer". We are in love with our new wardrobe and bench! It made our bedroom complete. Sam and I went back and forth a couple of times, she wanted to make sure the design was exactly what we wanted. It’s simple but beautiful.

We had many delays due to supply chain issues and Sam and her team were incredibly patient and helpful. Our cabinets from Schmitz are truly exceptional. It is a pleasure to be in the kitchen, surrounded by beautifully crafted cabinets that work perfectly. Even the fancy curvy inserts that defy calculus, gently guide heavy bowls and appliances back into the same position impossibly. Every time! And the best part—the people who guided us, designed, and built for us, were all a delight to work with. We received such excellent advice from Sam who not only has design and engineering talent but seems to manage the entire project with ease. But I know better after receiving many emails from her starting at 5am. She certainly puts in the long hours. Schmitz was not simply a great subcontractor for our kitchen remodel, but a reminder that craftsmanship and professionalism can still be found for a reasonable price. Sam and her team were a pleasure to work with for the recent remodel of two of our bathrooms. Sam helped design cabinetry that would maximize the space and storage in both bathrooms and helped us choose the right wood and stain to help accommodate what we were looking for. Sam is very knowledgeable, professional, and quick to respond to communication needs. Their installation crew did a great job as well and were very efficient.
