Without reservation, I give my highest recommendation to Shenandoah Kitchen. I am completely in love with my custom-made cabinets, which were made to perfection based on inspiration photos I provided. Shenandoah delivers a superior product with impeccable craftsmanship. I started by buying my kitchen table set from Shenandoah and after seeing the quality and beauty of that, went on to purchase other furniture and finally to select them for our kitchen project.

I am writing this review after putting my new kitchen through almost a full year of daily use. Shenandoah Kitchen and Home completed our project this past summer and I couldn’t be happier. For many years I had dreamed and planned of my perfect kitchen - an open, modern and functional design - blended with the warmth and character of reclaimed wood. I chose Vickie and her team to do our renovation for two main reasons: their willingness to actualize my vision and their beautiful wood! They were the first company to look at our project and come up with unique solutions. They resolved two design issues: a small cramped kitchen and an awkward transition into the family room. By removing the wall between the dining room and the kitchen and building a custom stair/railing using their beautiful antique oak to transition to the family room, both of these design challenges were creatively solved.
This was a truly custom kitchen that incorporated all the details I was looking for - beautifully crafted cabinetry, antique wood accents, reclaimed wood flooring, open shelving, custom copper lighting, and super appliances. Everyone on Vickie’s team are top rate professionals. I especially want to give a shout out to Rob - he can fix anything and is pleasant to be around and to Master electrician Greg who put together our custom lighting plan.
I love to cook and I spend lots of time in my kitchen - and now it really has become the hub of the house! Over the last 9 months, from our first Thanksgiving in the new kitchen through the holidays and now cooking even more during quarantine, I am extremely satisfied with the new space made possible by Shenandoah Kitchen and Home and highly recommend them!

We approached Shenandoah Kitchen & Home for assistance in locating a product for our kitchen. Because they were doing us a "free service" by helping... we were not top priority, so it took them two weeks to get back to us just for a product number. After spending $100 to order the part, it turns out we were misadvised as it was not the correct part. When we returned to their facility to seek additional guidance, we were met with rudeness and blatant disregard for helping the customer. When told that the product number was wrong, the owner, Vickie, responded, "and what am I supposed to do about it?". She refused to help further and sent us on our way. Little did Vickie know, that we have an entire kitchen that needs redone, and this one item we needed was just the start... we would have come to them for our other kitchen needs had they have been more helpful and kind. BUT, at this exact time, we were not paying customers, so we were shooed away. THIS GOES AGAINST EVERYTHING STATED ON THEIR WEBSITE: We were not made "part of their family"... Vickie did not "welcome us as a special guest" ... and apparently she was lacking in "knowledge and expertise". We did not receive a "welcome smile"... we were not made to feel "relaxed" and there was no "working together".
Vickie provided us FALSE information, and then refused to assist in fixing her mess. When confronted, she explained that she had no obligation to continue to assist as we were not paying customers. Unprofessional, rude, and just sad.

We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Shenandoah Furniture! We moved into our new home and loved everything but our kitchen. It was small and had a cooktop on the tiny island and had very little storage. We wanted to blow out a wall and expand our kitchen into our unused dining room. We got several bids but decided to go with them because for custom cabinetry, they were in a similar price range as other companies that didn't provide the same quality. Vickie did a wonderful job explaining the whole process and any additional costs that we may encounter, and we LOVED the idea of this company being a local company that used many local resources. Our countertop is thirteen feet long and is oak from the floor of a barn that was being torn down. Vickie gave us a realistic time frame and told us how their focus is on doing things the right way, and they certainly did! We had to patiently wait a few months to have our turn with our remodel but that actually gave us time to prepare freezer crockpot meals and a makeshift kitchen in our living room.
We absolutely LOVE how our kitchen turned out and it's even better that what we imagined. I truly never realized how functional a kitchen could be when it was done the right way, but Vickie had some amazing suggestions that have made my life so much easier. The reclaimed wood island counter that she suggested not only saved us money, but it also has become our favorite part of our kitchen and people coming to visit almost always point it out. Vickie also handled every aspect of our kitchen herself so she ordered our handles, appliances and countertops. It was wonderful to have an expert deal with those details and to not have to worry about things not going right. She's great at what she does and although we expected more problems, the only glitch (if you can even call it that) we had was working our hood on properly because our exterior wall is a tad lumpy. That wasn't the fault of anybody but our builder and the gentleman working on our house, Rob, worked hard to come up with a solution that looked beautiful! My husband and I both commented several times how we expected more issues to arise but I'm pretty sure we had the smoothest kitchen remodel in history. I should also point out that Vickie was at our house every Monday making sure everything was okay and was also there if we needed her for anything else. We always felt confident with the progress going on and loved how she was hands on and offered suggestions as we went along that really were really helpful! At one point, we told her we picked out a marble countertop and she mentioned that with three young kids, the maintenance might be a bit high. She recommended a gorgeous granite that looks almost identical to marble that's definitely more durable and we absolutely love it! People always think it's marble too, so we definitely got the look we were going for!!
The gentleman (Rob) who does most of the work is absolutely phenomenal. He had a small crew when needed them for demo or anything else that requires more manpower but for he most part, it was just him. Rob is just a great guy and is a brilliant jack-of-all-trades. I know he's been with Shenandoah for years and they are very lucky to have him! One of the hardest parts for me about having such a long project done in our house was trusting who would be with us all day for eight weeks. Well, we met Rob and our worries disappeared. He was a pleasure to talk with and have in our home and our kids (and dogs!) loved him! When you use Shenandoah, you may not get your kitchen done as quickly as someone who starts their project the same day as yours, but they will do it the right way. That, to us, was more important. Rob is very throrough and proved to us many times that he wasn't there just to breeze through our kitchen, but to get it done the way it should be done. At one point, he noticed something off in one of our tiles that we NEVER would have noticed. Instead of moving on, he tore up that tile and fixed it to make sure we wouldn't have issues. Other big companies would have hoped nobody noticed and just moved on to something else.
One last thing I'd like to mention is how tightly Shenandoah works with the other companies, like the electricians, appliance, and countertop people. The communication is great and I never realized before how crucial that part would be. Rob stays there when the electrician comes in so they can all brainstorm and make sure everything is being put in the best location for functionality. I will add here that I had a friend in Michigan who was having her master bath done at the exact same time as our kitchen and she chose a bigger company with lots of sales people and it was a nightmare. She had problem after problem because the tile people, sales people, and electricians didn't communicate and she said she would never choose a large company again because there was just more room for miscommunication and error. I never would have thought about the importance of all of that before this remodel but I realize now how pertinent it is for a successful project. We were told our kitchen was going to be done in 6-8 weeks and it took seven so we were happy with that, and the different teams of people that moved in and out to add their own parts to the project all worked together wonderfully.

We have referred several clients to Shenandoah in recent years for reclaimed lumber fireplace mantles to go with our fireplace projects. They always have a nice selection of old timber offerings in the arena, and customize the sizes for us when needed fir our project. Good folks to deal with.

Shenandoah Furniture Gallery custom built a reclaimed walnut conference room table for my company. We are located in a historic building in Leesburg, Virginia and wanted to keep the charm of the old building. Given that we are in an old building, many of the rooms are shaped oddly - our conference room being one of those rooms. We needed a long table that could easily fit 10-12 chairs but with longer length comes wider width. We needed a custom made table for this room. Vickie Kelley of Shenandoah came out measured the room, determined for us how much space was needed around the table, then custom made the most beautiful table for us. Everyone who visits us comments on the beauty of this table. We love it!

When I considered using SFG, the website stated "each cabinet is built precisely for your walls and space. You never have to force our cabinets to fit your space, so you never have to settle for not quite right" Let me share my experience with SFG:
1.) SFG insisted they have my farm sink for building my cabinets. My CUSTOM cabinets arrived and the installer glued two wood strips on each side of the sink and then used caulk. After not accepting the install, it took three different tries to get something just ok. In the process, the cabinet run was installed and removed three times. One installation there was a 5/8th " gap from the top of the cabinet to the base. This gap created a twist in the cabinet. To this day the cabinets will not close properly. Additionally, the removal and reinstall cracked the grout in my floor. SFG said to my contractor "if you hadn't brought this to her attention, she would have accepted it."
2.) SFG cabinet maker on site discussed how he was to build the pantry boxes. My contractor asked him what door he was going to bring them through as there was not access large enough to accommodate. My contractor had to build the boxes on site, I was not refunded this expense.
3.) SFG was given instructions on hinging the pantry doors. The door came hinged incorrectly. The pullout drawers of the pantry could not clear the hinge that SFG put on when they were specifically directed that the European concealed hinge would not work. Again, I had to buy the correct hinges and pay the contractor for the installation of hinges and drawers.
4.) SFG specified a painter for my 11x14 kitchen at a cost of 6K. I told SFG I would use my own painter, I was charged 1,125.00 inconvenience fee. The kitchen was painted by high-end painters for 2K
5.) When I asked for specifics on the 10,500. price for my countertops, SFG would not give me detail. When I pressed SFG walked off my job. I purchased the same countertops at the same specifications for 3K less.
I also had to source the wood top for my island and found a beautiful top in Berryville.
After SFG walked off my job I had to press for shelves for my pantry of which I did finally get. I had several thousand dollars of out of pocket due to the errors made by SFG. I am not satisfied and I wish my very expensive cabinets would close properly.

I am extremely happy with my new kitchen! Working with Shenandoah Furniture Company was a pleasure. Everyone was professional, friendly, and - even more importantly - the best in their field! And everyone seemed truly committed to ensuring that I was happy and satisfied with the end result.
I have dealt with Shenandoah before with furniture purchases - both off the floor as well as custom made and I have never been disappointed.

Great experience from first strolling into store through finished floors and cabinetry. Working with Vickie was easy, no pressure but still focused and task oriented. We utilized a couple different types of reclaimed wood floors for our new cottage home and they are truly stunning. They worked with and around other contractors to insure that everything was properly timed for our and the projects schedule, not their own schedule. Also did complete kitchen cabinetry as well as master bath vanity. Again a beautiful custom job. Sample doors created with our colors and design were provided to help us in picking materials from other places and to look at in the light of the home. Made huge difference and since the process of making the cabinets truly custom, allowed us time to change the color/shade that really fit our home properly.
Again great experience and would highly recommend.

Shenandoah Furniture is an exceptional kitchen design and construction outfit. It's proprietress, Vickie Kelley is a gifted and delightful design and implementation master. No detail is too small for Vickie. She plays really close attention throughout the process, guiding, cajoling, imposing as the kitchen progresses.
Her specialty is kitchens in older homes. Mine was the remodel of a kitchen in a 201 year old stone cottage in the Blue Ridge Mountains. She and her team never blinked despite challenges like 4 black snakes coming out of the wall during demolition, or a crumbling central wall.
The center piece of her kitchens are handmade cabinets from antique, recycled wood. They are exquisite on the outside and perfectly modern and functional in the inside. Mine were made from antique oak with 3 different finishes, honey on the base cabinets, distressed white on the uppers and distressed walnut on a hanging wine rack and lower cabinet. The color combinations really worked, with the white cabinets helping to overcome 7 foot ceilings. Similarly, her wall color suggestions unusual and amazing.....white walls, citron ceiling, pistachio accent walls brighten the place and invite you in.
Vickie has a very talented team but doesn't impose. I could have used any general contractor I wanted. I chose her guy, Rob. He was wonderful. He communicates well, moves things along, coordinates subs well and made sure even the smallest details were executed perfectly. He kept disruptions to a minimum and even befriended my coonhound. Everyone of the subs was excellent as well from the electrician, floor, plumbing to the tile folk.
One of the most fun things about Vickie is that she enjoys your participation. She made lots of suggestions but also was supportive of my contributions, from the Moroccan tile to the hand-forged hanging lights. Together we made a masterpiece.

Shenandoah Furniture Gallery is the place to go, not only for great farmhouse furniture, but kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, medicine cabinets, reclaimed wood floors, beams and much more! I've admired Vickie's farm tables for years and had always hoped to get one when we built our home. I did get one....and all of the above, too.
I started out talking with Vickie about my kitchen. I had a design idea, but, Jeremy and Vickie worked with me to put the finishing touches on it to make it perfect! For the painted cabinets, Vickie color matched my AGA appliances, and had them hand painted on sight- it added a real nice touch. They feel and look authentic! My island is reclaimed wood, which we were going to paint and decided last minute to leave them natural to compliment the beams in the dining room. I also have cherry cabinets that they hand finished to look rustic. It is a beautiful kitchen!
As we talked through the kitchen we began talking about my hoping to use reclaimed floors and beams. Vickie gave me a price and it was so competitive with other options that we went with both the beams and floors. They are the perfect addition to our house!
As I was deciding on vanities and medicine cabinets for my bathrooms, I talked with Vickie about those, also, and brought her pictures. We ended up having vanities made for three bathrooms, including the master, which they also made built in medicine cabinets to match- they are awesome!
Vickie and her staff are a joy to work with and her products are top notch. She worked within my budget, also, helping me pick what were the most important aspects of the kitchen. I highly, highly recommend Shenandoah Furniture for their excellent products and service. Working with this hometown shop is all you would hope for and more!
