If you're looking for a consumate professional with a great eye for detail and true craftsmanship, Byron is the right person for you. I waited a long time to have an entertainment cabinet done - it was difficult to decide what to do and how it would fit in with the rest of the space. Byron had great ideas, was extremely patient and did an incredible job both building and installing this piece. He kept me up to date with all the progress. Deceptively simple, it is beautiful and I have received nothing but compliments. I've had other cabinetry built which were fine, but this unit is like a beautiful piece of furniture. I will be redesigning our kitchen and will not hesitate to call Byron and Cheryl again.

Absolutely love the home office Byron/The Last Inch did for me. Start to finish, Byron was wonderful to work with and was masterful in understanding my workplace needs, the style I was looking for and staying in the budget we set. His work is stunning and has transformed my work space to a place I love coming to every day. His craftsmanship is outstanding, with attention to detail with everything (self closing drawers, door insets, hardware, inset lighting, beautiful matching of woods--I could go on and on).

Byron is a true craftsman. He created a beautiful design for our library after getting a sense of our needs and aesthetic. Then he built it perfectly. The installation also was very well planned and carefully executed. We are so thrilled with the finished product!

Had a great experience with Byron and Cheryl at Last Inch for our project. The project focused on 2 items: - custom fireplace surround with mantle and adjoining upholstered bench - custom dining table For the fireplace and bench, we had a fairly detailed design of what we wanted. Byron was able to run with this plan, help choose the wood and finishes, and construct to the highest standard. It's the showpiece of our remodel by far! The quality of craftsmanship is incredible. Along the way, I was kept up to date and even invited to come down to the shop to check on the construction. The finished project was delivered and installed on time and within the set budget. For the custom table, we had a 3-sided banquette installed next to the kitchen. It was missing a table, and had unique dimensions. We gave Byron an idea of what we were interested in, but no set plans. He designed a beautiful craftsman-style table that fits perfectly within the home and decor. It's almost too nice to eat off of. Mid-project we realized completely that our "cabinet maker" was not up to the house he had been hired to outfit us with built-in dressing-room cabinets+drawers, library+media furniture, etc. Enter by fortuitous happenstance Mr. Byron Zook and "The Last Inch". Mr. Zooks work was first class and he was more than"up-to-the-standard". Mr. Zook ended up doing much more than our original plans required! He listens, he asks questions, he suggests...he is meticulous and we are completely happy with his professionalism and the house he outfitted for us. Superior experience! Thank you "Last Inch"

i had been looking for my dream cabinets for 6 months. i wanted beautiful wood that was not suffocating. The Last Inch understood! they created beautiful cherry wood cabinets for my kitchen renovation and expansion. i had many very specific needs and desires and Byron & Cheryl listened to me and looked at my sketches. i have a few mobility issues so i needed very high counters. i'm chemically sensitive so i wanted as much genuine wood as possible and no MDF. i react to many water based green products used to join layers or protect the wood. and i was looking toward aging in place. They met all my needs for the kitchen. i have the most beautiful functional kitchen cabinets with amazing details and just plain thoughtful touches. i could tell the Byron loves wood and has plenty of stories. Cheryl did the design, which was all about dealing with my lists of kitchen inventory, notes on process, and specific details, like drawer heights. Byron did not have any of the issues contractors can have working with women. he was very respectful of my ideas and implemented everything that was practical. but he would tell me the downside to going in a certain direction or explain exactly why it wouldn't work. he was almost never late and if he was running late he would call and let me know. i also really liked the way he worked with Cheryl, his business partner, designer and wife. it was so sweet when in the final stretches of installation this capable and modern woman would stop by with Byron's lunch. excellent work, great people to work with.

In a world of machine made products it is inspiring to find a true craftsman as Byron Zook, of the Last Inch.I hired Byron because he was confident, caring, exacting, and simply appeared to be a man to trust. I needed several large pieces made for our remodel. One conversation with Byron and I knew he was the "man for the job". I ordered two free standing bookcases and a mantel for the living room and one large bookcase for the kitchen/family room. I also ordered a china cabinet. The bookcases were designed and beautifully constructed to match the existing moulding. Byron built them to perfection, painted, and installed them. The china cabinet, my pride and joy, was made from stained walnut with burl accents, making it a family heirloom. Thank you, Byron for your expertise and my beautiful furniture.

The furniture quality master bath cabinetry was beautifully made, professionally installed and thrilled one of my most meticulous high-end clients. Byron and Cheryl are crafts people. From the choice of material to the final installation, Byron and his installers were precise, timely and responsive. Byron worked well with our architect and seamlessly made drawings into reality. As a homeowner, you go back and forth as to where you spend your budget and we are so glad that we spent it on these cabinets. You can see and feel quality. Their work will stay with the house as long as it stands.

Byron has created a few beautiful, artistic, functional, yet reasonably priced wood furniture pieces for our home. He has a great sense of design and uses lovely wood in his work - often in combination - which creates interest and integrates well with other furniture we have in our house. We often get compliments on these pieces, and we've just hired him again - along with his wife and partner, Cheryl - to work on a bench for our bedroom. Both are responsive, responsible, and a pleasure to work with. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Byron Zook who owns The Last Inch, is an experienced craftsman, professional, friendly, responsible and does a terrific job. He has designed and built different types of cabinets for such as the desks, drawers, bookcases, and a wall bed in one bedroom, successfully turning the room into both an office and a guest bedroom. In our master bed room he built lovely white bookcases and a cabinet for our flat screen TV. He also rebuilt part of our cabinet in the Family Room so we could install a flat screen TV. His design idea for that project was excellent as were his prior designs. By coincidence, we discovered that he actuality built our beautiful craftsman table years ago when he was working for another company. We would highly recommend him to anyone who needs cabinets or specially designed furniture.
