Humming Bird Soapstone

Had soapstone installed around perimeter of kitchen countertops a year ago - Mike and his staff were kind and easy to work with. This seems to be an "old school" type of business, but they really know their craft and materials. A corner broke off when installing, and this section was replaced without question. Maintenance has been minimal - I used Bee's Oil from Holland Bowl Mill maybe once every 1-2 months for first 6 months to keep stone dark (it mainly fades to gray a bit where cabinet lighting shines on it). Totally durable - I put hot pans and cookie sheets right on it, no problems with chipping. The light gray veining (with a hint of dark green) is gorgeous - a nice contrast to the marble we have on the island. A year later, I totally love it - no regrets whatsoever. Can't believe more people don't use soapstone! I highly recommend it!
