Coastal Outdoor Spaces

After moving into our new house in a 55+ development in 2020, we spent the next two years planning, decorating, and customizing what we expect to be our last home. The final major project was adding a 23’ x 12’ four season sunroom and a 600 square feet patio. This was a large project and we interviewed several contractors before deciding to go with Coastal Outdoor Spaces in 2022. While several quotes were comparable, the client reviews for Coastal stood out. Even so, one never knows how the contractor/client experience will turn out. Throughout the build process, Brandon and his crew were professional, flexible, polite, efficient, and responsive to our queries and requests. There are often unforeseen hiccups in complex construction jobs, and we experienced one. But Brandon stepped up and took care of it without a second thought. That meant a lot to us. A nearby neighbor started a similar project prior to us and according to her, it was nightmarish, and still undone after ours was completed! We’re thankful that Brandon and his crews were expert craftsmen and focused on satisfying us. The workmanship is first rate, and Brandon’s team returned in a timely manner to take care of any minor touch ups. I highly recommend Brandon Stewart and Coastal Outdoor Spaces. They did an outstanding job for us and we are totally enjoying our sunroom and patio year round!”

My husband and I recently engaged Coastal Outdoor to help us check the box next to a major wishlist item: a screened porch. We are simply thrilled with the result and we will absolutely work with them again on a few other projects in the future (front porch next!) Our project manager and primary point of contact, Brandon, was patient, responsive, amiable, positive and frequently onsite. He’s just one of those guys who’s "a good guy”, there’s no other way to put it. Misael, the crew head, was extremely knowledgeable and proactive, he didn’t mess around if something had the potential to be an issue, he talked to us immediately before making any moves. In general, they just plain listened and my sense was that they genuinely wanted our small project to succeed. We had a few minor glitches (my fault) and they just resolved it and continued rolling along. Little to no drama because they’ve kind of seen it all. The crew moved like the wind, we’re always here when Misael said they would be, right on time. Stone cold pros. My mother’s husband does contracting work in Florida, he sneaked in a quick visit to see how the project was progressing. He walked around, looked at whatever details craftspeople know to look at, and said “It’s excellent work, I wouldn’t have done a damn thing differently.” He doesn’t usually say a heck of a lot, so it was high praise. We’re lucky to have this new space in our lives and grateful we found a legitimately professional and “human” contracting company to work with. They’re harder and harder to find…

Coastal Outdoor Spaces was great to deal with from the beginning to the very end. Pre-Covid we had received a few quotes but didn’t get a good feeling from those vendors. Spent a week sanding the old wood deck, priming and then 2 coats of stain, thinking it should last for awhile…nope! So back to the drawing board and interviewing vendors! One would think prices would be similar as the main product (Fiberon Good life) and other parts of the deck were very similar, but again I was wrong Brandon (Owner of the company) was very laid back, explained the situation and the plan. Once we signed the contract, it would take about 2 weeks to obtain the permit from Anne Arundel County (which it did) and then they would start right away! Seemed almost too good to be true as the 2 other companies stated it would be a few months wait (and much more $$$$) The deciding factor for us to go with Brandon was that a friend had used them and they were extremely impressed with the whole evolution and the finished product. 1 of our huge concerns was that a downstairs window that has an escape hatch remains a legal bedroom. A few companies said it may not be an option. Brandon took the time to go down to the County office with our plan and got assurance that it would still be a legal bedroom They started the demo of the old deck when they said they would and would have finished on time (if not ahead) if not for some severe rainy days. The 3 men crew were led by Henry and they worked very well together. Lot of laughing and 1 guy loved to sing, and they were working hard! I have the video to prove it and I was home a few days! People that are happy and get along with their co-workers tend to show better results and I can assure you that was the case here. As well they cleaned up the work area at the end of each work day Finished product? Excellent! It really looks sharp and we are over the moon happy with it. Neighbors that have come by have been impressed and our house is by a path so I have had a few people state it looks sharp. Was it a perfect from start to finish? Almost, but not quite. After the demo of the wood deck, I found some screws/nails on the driveway. Told Brandon, was never an issue again. Only other minor issue was some caulking and again told Brandon and it was fixed. Very minor issues, but I try and write an honest review. And for me, when there are issues a good company rectifies them and Brandon did so very quickly Conclusion, we have a beautiful, well-constructed deck that I feel we will enjoy for many years and at a very good price. Brandon was a man of his word and Henry and his crew did a terrific job. I highly recommend Coastal Outdoor Spaces be one of the companies you interview for your deck project. My wife and I were so pleased with the porch replacement done by Coastal Deck and Fence that we opted to have our other large porch and deck replaced by Brandon. We again experienced the same high-quality result. The quality of workmanship was outstanding. Communication was excellent and the crew was very personable and professional. This deck project from start to finish was Five Stars. Brandon was very personable and knowledgeable and communication was excellent. We got the exact screened porch we wanted. Big, spacious and built with meticulous detail from the synthetic Ipe deck boards to the decorative railing and to the tongue-in-groove ceiling. Brandon's crew have obvious pride in their workmanship and paid very close attention to every detail. They wanted to get it done right and they did. The best compliment is how fast word spread among the neighbors who asked for a tour! You will be very happy with their work.

Start to finish, working with Brandon at Coastal Outdoor Spaces was an outstanding experience when creating our custom backyard project. He took the time to understand our wants and needs. He made sound recommendations, was always professional, clearly knowledgeable about design, products, permitting, and construction. All of this made the process go smoothly and as expected. The whole experience of patio renovation was simple, clear, quick, and professional. We decided on Coastal Outdoor Spaces based on Brandon's refined vision for the space--absolutely beautiful and amazing! The workmanship of the entire crew was superior. They completed the job in a couple of days (even in the heat of the summer), and left us with a magnificent patio and appealing landscaping for July 4th! We recently added a closed-in deck and patio off the back of our house and Brandon and the crews from Coastal Outdoor Spaces were outstanding! Brandon worked with us to incorporate our ideas and vision throughout the entire process and we could not be happier with the final product. He even took time to educate himself about a product that we wanted to use that Brandon had never worked with before. Since our project was being completed over the winter months, we obviously had to deal with some bad weather days. We never had to wonder if the crews were coming or not - Brandon always made sure to keep us informed about when the crews were coming to work on our project. We also loved that Brandon was very involved with our project. He was at our house almost every day that the crews were here and was always accessible to bounce ideas off of and to answer our many questions. He was very invested in us being happy with the final product, and our new outdoor spaces exceed our expectations! This is a fantastic business. Completed my project on time and on cost. No hard sell, just outstanding work. I had a paver patio installed, and the result exceeded expectations.
