I hired Alan to build an addition on our home for a handicapped family member. His credentials say he is certified for this kind of build. His work did not show that ability. The tiler he hired was probably good at one time but not so good now. The painters he recommended needed to be told the color choices 3 times and then they put it on the wrong walls, not to mention getting it on my door handles. Alan doesn't check to see if the right products were delivered or that the job was done correctly. I feel like Alan is good at starting the job but not finishing it. We had a winter storm and an Ice dam issue last winter. He was quick to come look it over and clean up the water and that is the last I have heard from him. I paid 100% on time and he gave me 90% job that hasn't been finished. I'm waiting for: 1) repair painting to be done inside because of water damage 2) I need the contact information for the electrition because a cover plate is missing from the AC unit. 3) warped decking he installed to be corrected as it is a tripping hazard.

Find another builder. We experienced nothing but challenges with this firm right from the beginning. They are unresponsive to emails, texts and phone calls. The builder app that they promote to assist with communication of project status was either not used or consistently wrong. Our town inspector caught too many shortcuts to mention. Now we have buckling floors in our family room, and the builder is unresponsive. Some of Archuleta Builders sub contractors were not paid, and they attempted to take a lien against homeowners home, because that is their only legal recourse. We are aware of at least one sub that has still not been paid months after the job was finished. Take a solid pass on this firm.

Alan constructed a two story addition for us, renovatedthe basement and bathrooms, and installed a stone patio. The quality of the work is excellent and Alan was helpful in coming up with ideas to deal with issues that arose during construction. He was also fair in contract and price negotiations. Although we would have preferred better notice on scheduling, that now seems to be more of an annoyance than a real complaint.

We loved Alan Archuleta's energy and enthusiasm for our project. He took a completely unfinished concrete slab basement and made it a comfortable living space in our house. He made great suggestions and solved a variety of challenges involved in working in an older home. He stuck to the budget and all variations were discussed and agreed to in advance. He took the time to understand our family, work closely with the architect and make sure the space would suit us. He added wonderful details that went above and beyond our expectations.
