Coastal Heritage Construction and Realty recently completed a room addition and extensive renovation of our home. The renovations included a new roof, hardwood floors throughout, and completely remodeling the kitchen and master bathroom. Kim Willis, the owner, was a great help throughout the process. She made sure we knew what was going to happen and when employees or subcontractors would be at the house and made sure they did show up. She also answered all questions promptly and gave advice and suggestions when we requested it. The Heritage employees were all professional, did good work, kept things as neat as possible and cleaned up after themselves even though we moved out for the duration of the project. We strongly recommend Heritage Heritage Construction and Realty for any new construction or renovation project.

Costal Heritage was great to work with and we are very happy with the home they constructed for us in Cedar Island in 2021. The quality of the construction and attention to detail were both good. The construction took a little longer than expected, but this seems par for the course. Kim was very responsive starting with our first contact and would usually getting back to us immediately with updates or answers. We never had to wonder what was going on. Kim was also good about telling us what decisions we needed to make and by when. Kim was flexible and open to reasonable changes to the plan, including a late switch from vinyl siding to Hardie and expanding the second-floor loft after the inside was framed and we realized how much space was being wasted. Not sure most builders would be open to those kinds of changes. Kim was good about offering an opinion and giving us the cost of different options but leaving the decision to us. There was an issue with our water the first night (stopped flowing while filling a bath) and within a few minutes of calling Kim, we had the plumber and electrician on the line working through the problem. Other than this, we have not had any issues --- plumbing, heating, electrical, roof, siding, interior finishes, etc have all been fine. There were a few challenges along the way and an extreme number of nails and other sharp objects left behind, but overall, we are happy with Costal Heritage and would highly recommend them!

Still waiting for safety, health and rust issues to be corrected after build. They’ve had the inspection report for months. Since checking on progress after a tragic family accident last week we still haven’t heard when our home will be repaired. Spent a small fortune to claw back ~$6k in invoices they charged us because they followed the wrong plans and expected us to pay for their poor supervision and planning skills. The subcontractors work for most of the builders in the area and did a wonderful job when they didn’t have to redo several projects the management planned wrong or forgot. If it weren’t for the lack of professionalism and miscommunications throughout I would rate them higher.

When I first saw this home I knew it was home. Then it blossomed into the perfect vision and every meticulous detail was mastered. It is hard to make a home feel like home before you move in, but Kim knows what families need, and truly listened to my personal wants. I’m so grateful we crossed paths. I love my home.

Kim Willis built a house for us in Arlington Place (Minnesott Beach), and we could not any happier with the quality of the work her team did, and the communication she provides her customers. Contractors and builders can be hard to reach due to the hectic nature of their business, and I was blown away with regards to how well Kim responded to questions and requests. She was awesome to work with, a woman of integrity, and I would recommend her to anyone looking to build!

Coastal Heritage is the way to go! When we decided to build, we met with 4 contractors who had reputations of building quality homes. Coastal Heritage proposed to build our house in less time and at the same cost or lower than the rest. Kim is great to work with! She’s an excellent communicator who always responds and acts quickly. Plus she hires nice people who take pride in their work. Kim works hard to insure every client is completely satisfied. We’ve been in our new house a couple months now and could not be happier. Kim Willis and Coastal Heritage Construction have exceeded expectations which is not easy to do with a detail-oriented person like myself. Kim and her team, including Shannon and Michael, listen carefully, explain thoroughly and execute at the highest level for a fair price. They are VERY responsive to your requests, concerns and needs. Kim has great design ideas and can help you make great choices on the flow of your home and the finishes. We purchased a home already built and changed a few minor things according to our taste and needs. Kim was fair and flexible. Because of the manufacturing delays due to Covid-19, we could not get our furniture for months. Kim let us use the staging furniture until ours came in. Now that’s what I call outstanding customer service- Mind Blown! I also found out that she cleared and re-sodded our back-yard neighbor’s yard (damaged by hurricanes) to improve our view and appearance of the lot. We got a lot of house and extras for the money we spent and are so pleased with the outcome. I strongly recommend.

As a result of Hurricane Florence, my home needed to be demolished and replaced with a new structure. Having no building experience and never having hired or worked with a contractor before, I was anxious about building a new home. I was also concerned about being taken advantage of since not only was I inexperienced, I was also not living in the area while the house was being built. I checked around and discovered that Kim had many ties to the Community and, as I learned, with my own family as well. I felt comfortable with my decision to go with Kim for the build, and trusted her 100%. Kim patiently responded to all my questions and helped me to understand the construction process. So many decisions had to be made, resulting in many long phone conversations, quick emails and texts messages. Kim worked long hours on my behalf to ensure that my new home would not only keep me safe from rising waters and screaming winds, but be a place of beauty and warmth. Thank you Kim and Crew.

Kim Willis, Coastal Heritage in Beaufort is a go getter! She stayed on top of things while doing our new roof. She was always quick to respond to emails and texts and actually answers her own phone! She kept us informed and followed up on requests and frequently came to check on our job site. I highly recommend her and her company.

The face of Coastal Heritage Construction is Kim Willis. She is a very dedicated professional. Directly after Hurricane Florence we were faced with roof damage, leaking doors and flooring in possible need of replacement. With the next hurricane (Michael) on the horizon I called Kim and she arranged for a roof inspection which showed significantly more damage than our insurance assessment. The roof repair was executed a few days before the next hurricane so we did not sustain any additional damage thru roof leakage. Kim also came to our home and assessed the damage and helped us review and contest our insurance companies evaluation. The insurance company only wanted to replace the front doors, but through her help we were able to secure a change in the insurance companies evaluation and get all four exit doors on the damaged level replaced. Although getting the doors was a bit of a pain due to all of the construction in the area, we finally got them replaced in an extremely professional and exacting manner. During our waiting and actual construction period, Kim was constantly updating us to where we stood, what was happening and how long was it going to take. I know that she was extremely direct and forceful with suppliers because I received feedback from them while they were attempting to get our materials. The important keys to Kim's personal involvement was that we were not guessing where we stood, she would show up and assess her contractor's progress and execution and she held everyone accountable to getting it done correctly. I have built five homes in my life and dealt with endless numbers of contractors and general contractors. The issues with nearly all remain the same; lack of information, follow-up and final details. I am happy to say this was not the case with Coastal Heritage Construction. We knew were we stood all of the time, the job was executed to our satisfaction and the final details have been dealt with, without issue. I would definitely recommend Coastal Heritage to anyone needing Construction assistance as well as they will be our go to people in the future.

It has been two years since our home in Arlington Place was built. Throughout that time, we have had continuous support from Kim Willis. She has been very professional and has assisted us with minor issues related to damage from Hurricane Florence. Recently, we noticed some additional damage to support columns under our front porch due to wind from Florence. We contacted Kim Willis and she responded immediately to address our concerns. She reviewed our concerns with a structural engineer and in one day, contacted us with recommendations to address the matter in a cost effective manner. We are very fortunate to have Kim Willis as our contractor and knowing that we can call her anytime to address issues related to our home. We love our home!

Kim Willis and Shannon enabled us to get back in our house even better than it was before Florence. Not only did she complete inside but she contracted my house lift and all that entails.. plumbing decks etc. I gave had so many compliments. She stayed on top of all construction and ensuring work was completed to her satisfaction and timely. I don't know what I would gave done without her help... highly recommended her for any job

Kim, Shannon and the whole crew do more than just get the work done: they are capable of helping with design and money saving ideas that most homeowners don't have the experience to think about. Absolutely the best building experience ever. Kim Willis built a beautiful home in Coastal Carolina. The process was made enjoyable and easy by her company. The house was built to the highest quality standard for a reasonable price. I highly recommend Coastal Heritage for anyone building in North Carolina. We love our house at the beach! Turnkey project. We worked with Kim from our home in the Raleigh area. Kim made the whole project easy for us, from permits to picking paint colors. She made things happen in a timely manner and the house was finished on time. We currently use her for other house projects and have been very pleased.

When we initially decided to build we were given several builder names. Kim Willis was the only one to call us back. We began the process while living in the Virgin Islands. She was very accommodating and flexible in her scheduling. Our build was delayed due to the bank, and she was able to move us back yet still finish our house within 6 months. With winter approaching, she kept the pressure on the subs to get us in as soon as possible. We made changes in the plans to accommodate our needs. She made good suggestions along the way, and was able to build our custom bathroom. I would strongly recommend Kim for your next building project.

Excellent job in creating a "safe" bathroom for us with only a few hours of the bathroom being out of service. Workman came on time and were very efficient. The coordinating of various crews; marble measuring, destruction, removal, plumbing, electrical, installation of marble and safety bars was amazing! Kim took care of all the details-thank you! Great job!! Just what we needed!

Following an economic downturn in 2008 and decrease in property values, our dream was put on hold. Kim Willis assisted us by coordinating with all subcontractor and vendors to ensure quality and timeliness. Site supervisor, Shannon Myers, did an awesome job with all of our finishing work and custom building certain features in our home. Throughout the construction process, we were more than highly satisfied! Our home was completed on August 4, 2017, and exceeded well beyond our expectations! We are now the proud owners of our newelevated coastal cottage, "Fisherman's Lure". I have used Coastal Heritage on several projects. I have found them to be professional, honest, and reliable. The general contractor has an excellent eye for details and employees superior craftsmen. All projects have been completed on time and with stellar results. I highly recommend this company for any construction projects.

Kim Willis is a very detailed integrity filled contractor. Being a woman she looks at things differently and does a lot of extras that most don't even think about. She always makes it like it is her own property that she is building or working on. Kim's team is also honest and very skilled craftsman. Coastal Heritage Construction has completed many projects for me as an HOA Mgr for several properties in Carteret County. Always a great job show up when they say and sometimes do extra services not included. Coastal Heritage Construction also added 810 Sq Feet to my existing home matching the brick and the metal roof very well. It's absolutely beautiful.
