I gave him the evaluation report written by an Engineering Company, and together with his foreman, looked over the project and provided a written estimate and time for completion. Now all work has been done, for a fair price and strict following of the Engineer report. Michael was our general contractor on a 1500 sq. ft. shop and in-law suite we built on our property in Oakley. After the completion of a year-long project, my opinion of his work is pretty high, but he's also just an objectively good contractor. He returns phone calls, showed up when he said he would, and delivers a product that passes inspections and looks great. He was willing to work within our specific budget constraints and desire for homeowner involvement, and the final cost of our project was right on target with what Michael originally quoted. His sub-contractors were also high quality and spoke highly of working with Michael. Several of them I still call for maintenance needs with the new structure or our existing house. We couldn't be happier with the work.

Michael Hurd, along with project manager Aaron Maret and a great crew, completed a renovation on my Asheville townhouse that included an updated kitchen and master bath. They really got what I had in mind for the house: better light, an open feel and a more contemporary look. They were conscious of my budget, and came up with some clever solutions to the inevitable issues that pop up when working in an old house. Communication is crucial when working with a contractor, and even more so when doing it long distance as I did. Michael and Aaron were always available to answer my questions and explain the construction process as it went along. Using creativity and professional skill, Michael and Aaron collaborated with me to achieve exactly what I was hoping for. It’s a great house now! I really enjoyed working with them.

I have worked with Michael and his team on 3 different projects now, a master bedroom closet, a kitchen/laundry remodel, and a front porch remodel. Aside from the great work they do (which they do fantastic work), everyone Michael sends over to my house is exceptionally pleasant and respectful of me, my house/belongings, and my kitty. Two years ago I was having a drainage problem. My driveway slopes down sharply from the cul de sac in front of my home and ends at my garage. During periods of heavy rain, water was coming off the driveway and ending up at the foundation of my house. I asked Michael Hurd to help me devise and implement a solution. Michael came up with the solution, arranged for more than one sub-contractor to perform the work and coordinated their efforts. Everybody who worked on the project was thoroughly competent and easy to get along with. Michael's price was more than fair. And the job was completed exactly when he said it would be. The fix looks great. And, most important, it works. My drainage problem is gone. I trust this young man implicitly and heartily recommend Right Building for any project you might have in mind.

I have done 5 remodels with Michael at Right Building. All of his crew were wonderful and working with Michael on designs and remodeling ideas was very professional as well as fun. The work was all A+ and Michael stands behind everything he does. And he does everything. We ran into some crazy things remodeling my house and he always had an answer and a professional to fix it. Highly recommend.

Excellent experience. We used Right Building to scrape our popcorn ceilings. The crew did a phenomenal job. It's amazing how nicely the ceilings came out -- they are very smooth and look so much better than the old popcorn. Michael and the crew were easy to work with and all demonstrated a great work ethic.
