Snowridge Remodeling

Working with Kirk and his FANTASTIC crew was such a great experience. Their professionalism, craftsmanship and work ethic made the huge job a joy. We replaced all windows and doors (interior & exterior), new millwork throughout, gutted and rearranged the kitchen, moved the laundry area (to create more open concept), dry walled the garage, removed popcorn ceilings and insulated the attic. We also put in wood floors and removed a non working zero clearance fireplace. There were hundreds of parts moving simultainiously and with that being said, all our neighbors commented on how the Snowridge crew was clean, polite and courteous. Thanks again Kirk & Lynn!

It has been my fortunate opportunity to hire, and work with Kirk Knight of Snowridge Remodeling and his talented journeyman crew of carpenters for a few projects now. Our first together was on my personal residence, a 1958 custom -built home in West Seattle by, and for, design/builder Martin Ollas. Pictures of this project are here on Houzz under Snowridge Remodeling (West Seattle deck) These are of the completed deck, but only midway to completion for the exterior re-design. The original, second story bow-shaped deck had rotted away, along with most of the siding, and my challenge was to find a builder who was able to use my deck design as a blueprint for re-construction using new materials. The project was the build of an approx. 400 sq. ft. composite deck-overhang incorporating several elements: an architectural steel cable and aluminum rail system, composite decking with an untraditional use of composite 2x2, an under-decking rain-tray system, all new Hardiplank siding wrapping the entire south and west of the building (more than 50% of the exterior) and two new windows. The under-decking system Snowridge installed because there is also a lower 8x10 ft. balcony/deck below used often by travelers renting our lower space. This area had normally been useless for renters in wet weather. From the start it was clear, Kirk had a good eye for design and really enjoys new materials. Put that together with his sound sense of construction and he's the man you'll want on your project every time. I handed him my design on paper, and my source materials for the architectural railing system. He was eager the project meant working with unexpected materials. I like this quality in him. And he is very specific and precise in every way, clearly working toward pleasing his client, and working as a team player. An example of his conscientiousness; it was discovered that pooling roof water could cause complications down the road where the deck was to be anchored. Kirk could have let this go, but he chose to install a roof drain that tied into our downspout system, and then, to shore up a load-bearing footing by increasing the wall strength at the garage where the footing rested. This involved bringing a roofer into the project, and Kirk was prepared with two of them. During the bidding process, more than one contractor ran at the sight of potential complications with our midcentury building that had gone into disrepair because of neglect and some outdated construction techniques. Not Kirk. He relished the idea! He brought samples of composite decking and gave his opinion during the selection process, which went quickly. The job was completed on time and Kirk was on the job site nearly every day. And when he couldn't be, he communicated such. No surprises. His journeyman is particularly detail oriented, and called me in on decisions during rare times Kirk was off-site. This was a large project encompassing many aspects. And in that sense, had its complexities. Kirk Knight makes the difficult doable. I’ve since hired him for a 4-plex rental property in another city. I will review his work there, as well. We first hired Snowridge to rebuild our side porch and to replace all the windows in our appproximately 70 year old home. We wanted double pane windows that matched the original construction. Kirk and Lynn Knight of Snowridge did an excellent job of presenting our alternatives and helping us get what we wanted. We were so pleased that we engaged Snowridge to complete a major remodel of parts of our home. We have since recommended Snowridge to a number of friends. In our experinece, Snowridge places a high priority on client satisfaction.

I met Kirk while I was walking our dog in the neighborhood. He was doing some follow-up tasks for another customer. After a conversation, he came by our home with ideas and estimates on re-siding and/or painting our house. We ended up having Hardi-plank installed along with metal wrapping all the window trim. No more painting..hooray! He and his great crew are artisans. We were very pleased with the products he used and excellent workmanship. He has creative ideas and his prices are both fair and reasonable. Kirk is personable and collaborative and the project was completed on time and on budget. We have used other contractors for previous improvements and we would rank Snowridge at the very top. Mike and Laima Magnan

If you had a ten star rating, Snowridge Remodeling would get that rating from me. . Kirk and his workers replaced eleven windows on the second and third floor in my small 1926 commercial building and I am totally satisfied with their work, attitude and neatness. Not only did they work quickly and efficiently, but they left each area totally clean and picked up at the end of each day (the commercial building is also my home so this was important). Their skill in planning and installation was obvious and they all worked very well together. It only took 4-5 days for completion of the job which showed to me how organized and quickly they worked. They REALLY know the window business. Kirk was especially knowledgable about window products and kept me informed each step of the way. It was a BIG project at least to me, but the job went quickly without a hitch. Thank you!!!
