It was a pleasure to have Thompson Johnson build our net zero house. They worked with us and our architect from the beginning of a sometimes challenging project, bringing good ideas and suggestions to the table that resulted in a better outcome. Heather, the owner, and Mark, the foreman are true professionals........they are really knowledgeable and care deeply about what they do. Most impressive is the craftsmanship and and the quality of their work. Our goal at the start was to live in a "finely crafted house". And they delivered that to us.

Can't say enough good things about TJW management and crew. 100% commitment to aesthetics, energy efficiency, construction quality, and a satisfying contractor/customer relationship. Given the scale of our project – a complete gut/rehab – there were lots of places the project could have gone off the rails, but TJW stayed focused on delivering a quality result in spite of many challenges and surprises. Honestly, there were cheaper options, but we felt (and still feel) the peace of mind and fantastic outcome were well worth the additional investment.

I have worked with Heather Thompson at Thompson Johnson Woodworks for several years now. As a designer it is very important to work closely with our builders and architects. The relationship we have built has continued to grow stronger. Heather works with her customers from start to finish and her attention to detail is spot on! I can't say enough good about TJW. Thanks to my architect, Heather Thompson was in on my project from the very first, and that level of involvement totally paid off. She worked cooperatively with the architect during the design phase, and later helped me to see possibilities for economies that wouldn't change the essential nature of the design. I wanted an updated kitchen and bedroom/bathroom addition that didn't look like an addition, remodeled and new sections that would blend seamlessly with the existing nearly-century old original bungalow, and that's exactly what I got. The workmanship is outstanding. I couldn't be happier. Heather also encouraged me to update some other systems while the house was under construction. She is very knowledgeable concerning energy usage and, at her advice, I had the basement insulated and the attic capped. The savings proved out immediately, with noticeably lower oil usage over the winter despite the house actually being larger. Finally, Heather is a communicator. She is responsive to questions, phone calls, emails. She finds answers to your questions and gets back to you in very short order. If a remodeling project can be pleasant, this one was. Thompson Johnson was outstanding to work with.

Thompson Johnson Woodworks performed a major addition/renovation to our 100 + year old cottage on the coast of Maine. Despite this being a long distance relationship, we currently reside in Georgia, Heather and her crew provided superior service, finished the project on budget and the finished cottage is beautiful. Everyone we dealt with was polite, customer focused, knowledgable and honest. Overall a great experience.
