Darrel built our original house in 2008. At that time we were living 200 miles from the building site. He’s since completed a porch addition plus a major basement project while we have been living in the house. All 3 experiences have been top notch for us. From near or far! The house has been very well built (this comment is supported by visitors to the house who are in the building trade) and we love our home. Between Darrel and Donna, the build process, which was our first time, was made super easy by them keeping us on track for choosing options and making decisions. We were given suggested contractors, usually at least 2, to choose from. Costs were transparent and administration of them very detailed, so we knew where we were compared to budget all the time. All 3 projects came in on time and on budget. Darrel stands by his work. He has good relationships with his contractors which allows for him to call on them at short notice should anything need attention. We thoroughly recommend darrel Hamilton Builders.

Darrel Hamilton did a great job building our NC mountain "cabin". He and his wife, Donna, provided valuable insight in tweaking our original plan. Our project took a reasonable amount of time to complete and came in on budget. Darrel has a great rapport with his crews, he's straightforward and they know he expects their best. Darrel was on site every day monitoring progress. Darrel was a good partner throughout the project. He has creative solutions. Our home is extremely well built. We've had many compliments on our new mountain "cabin" (even from other builders), and believe we picked one of the best builders in the area.

Darrel and Donna helped us create our dream, retirement, log-home back in 2006 and have just completed a build-out of the basement this spring (2015). We consistently get comments from all visitors that it is "one of (if not, the) nicest homes in the county". We could not be more pleased with the work. Darrel's ability as a general contractor / builder is exceptional. His planning and budgeting skills up front assured we were all on the same page. He has put together an outstanding team of subcontractors, and manages their efforts extremely well. Darrel's "creative problem solving" skills were much needed as our architectural drawings from the Log company were not correct. Darrel was able to catch the errors and make creative adjustments as needed. As Cathy and I saw opportunities to "improve" the design as the building progressed, Darrel was always flexible and able to accommodate our desires. The result was and exceptional home that exceeded our expectations. And, as important, the development of a now 9 year friendship between Darrel, Donna, Cathy and myself. Highly recommend!!!

Building a home is never easy. Building a home in a state you are not even living in, is even more demanding and stressful. We contracted with Darrel Hamilton Builder to build a mountain home for us. Throughout all the phases of building our home, Darrel made sure that we were always made aware of its progress through phone calls and pictures of all major events during the building process. By providing pictures of the major construction phases and by having regular phone calls on the houses progress, Darrel was able to answer all our questions and take the stress out of building a new home. We were able to make changes during the construction and any overages to the budgeted contract was well documented and communicated.
