Builder did not follow our specs for driveway, house elevation and follow up to correct after build was difficult and never completed

I couldn’t be more pleased with the job Ken is doing for me. Ken has done a great job of following the architect's plans and staying ahead of what is needed to keep his subs moving and efficient at all times. My perception is that hiring a top notch Architect is not enough when you then have a builder who doesn’t follow the plans or thinks he knows enough to trump decisions that the Architect has outlined without discussing them with the homeowner or the Architect. Ken is constantly involving me in decisions and I know that he stays in regular contact with the Architect as well. I have also noticed a loyalty on the part of many of his subs to him over other builders they may work for. Ken’s knowledge of building fine custom homes has been impressive. He knows how to do everything, has experience doing it and understands why it is being done. He has proven to be a wise counsel to me on the best ways to accomplish what I want without costing me unnecessary expense. Perhaps the most important thing to me is his command of the numbers and reporting side of the business. His professionalism stands in stark contrast to the good ole boy contractors or cowboy contractors that I’ve had contact with in the past. He shoots me straight on the true cost of various options and never tries to low ball numbers to get me committed only to later come up with excuses as to why things were now costing more. He is top notch and the best in the area.

We hired Ken Garland to remodel a house we bought before moving in. He uses high quality subcontractors and had good suggestions for the inevitable surprises that come up. Ken has years of experience and knows which contractors to use. The project was on-budget, his estimates were good. Ken accommodated our design style and component specifications.

Ken Garland was awarded the contract for the addition / renavation to our existing home. The project was completed within the time frame we we're given and within budget. We renovated a Sun Room and added a adjoining Screen Porch with a fire place. We also added a Playhouse and arbor. His attention to detail and personal touch made this project seamless. Ken Garland has built two houses for us. Our current house is a custom home that was quite challenging. Ken worked right along side us from start to finish, ultimately creating exactly what we and our architect envisioned. He also stands by his work, even to this day almost 4 years after finishing our house I am comfortable calling him with a question or issue and he does whatever he can to help.
